We were a party of nine looking for a steakhouse for my birthday party with my family. I had never been to Black rock before but some in my party had. We chose the Brownstown location. I usually have the fillet mignon because it's tender so l ordered the fillet medallions (JSYK it's the most expensive item on the menu.) What I got was 5 round, pieces of meat that were so tough that l ended up looking for the whip marks from the jockey! Just the opposite of a filet mignon. Also, let's talk about the giant glowing square brick on the plate. When I pay $40 for a medium rare steak, I don't want to cook it at the table. Do they not have any cooks? I get the novelty of it, I'm just saying that at those prices, the customer should have a choice. And how has there not been a lawsuit from a 400° plate?? I ended up taking the hockey pucks in a carry out hoping that it would be better the next day. Let's just say that it wasn't. If there is a positive slant, my dogs enjoyed it. Our server was excellent. $130 tip helped.

Quite good this time - floors were not slippery, ventilation was good, food was excellent, service was great.Still bothers me that for a place that promises to let you cook your own steak, they bring it out already cooking and then flip it to start cooking the other side without even asking if you mind. You have to remember to ask them to do what the advertising promises in advance. Maybe I'll remember next time.

The top shelf long Islands were great. The server name T she was attentive and very nice. Only issue was the black rock chicken breast the sauce was so salty I couldn't even attempt to eat the food. The waiter manager informed me the sauce is pre-made. I was upset they don't sell wing dings chicken as appetizer nor on menu.

They do a good job here, so long as you know what you're walking into.I rate the "atmosphere" a 3, and I feel horrible doing so, but I'm doing it to potentially increase everybody's experience.The last folks at the table were cooking a steak. On a rock. I know you "wiped down" the table, but it's still always slimy and greasy. Everywhere. Floor, table, bar... Everywhere there is, is nothing more than a a slimy steak fat spray it's Everywhere!And I see those poor gals and guys wipe at it. It's CLEAN, but it's still slimy....Is there a windex style de-greaser? A spray that'll clear that previous table's ribeye fat grease that splattered all over the place?I never slam anyone, but I offer constructive criticism. Let's try to ind a spray de-greaser that'll make it seem like we're not sliding out the door. You have too good of a product and too good of a staff to lose customers over splattered steak grease. It's the only thing that doesn't make.you 5 stars!

Using the open table app we were seated promptly. We arrived a few minutes early even. Food was delicious. Though be warned the casaer salad does not come with any dressing. Just wet lettuce. Other than that the mahi mahi and ribs were delectable. Wil def go back again.

Oof, swing and a miss with this restaurant. Went on a Tuesday night and walked into the restaurant and was immediately assaulted by smoke. I went to the hostess stand and was told it’d be a 20 minute wait. Okay, fine, but the restaurant was half empty. Literally 6 posters were posted on the front doors and windows saying that you must have an ID to be served alcohol, which leads one to believe that they had issues serving minors and the police have been involved. When we were seated, the table at the back was surrounded by dust and dirt. The servers used carts to take food to each individual table that were incredibly loud. I ordered a 6 oz steak and my husband ordered a 8 oz steak and shrimp. After declining an appetizer twice, once when our server first came to the table, and the second time when she came back to our table to ask us what our drink orders were again and if we wanted an appetizer. The food was underwhelming, when you order an 8 oz steak you don’t expect to get four 2 oz filets. Service was lackluster, restaurant needed a good cleaning, and when none of the staff smile you know you’re going to have a bad experience.
