We finally found our go-to Chinese restaurant! We got the orange chicken dinner that comes with chicken fried rice, a fried wonton, soup of choice and an egg roll, the house combo mei fun noodles, and the steamed dumplings.We ordered through the restaurants delivery service and it came at the time expected and was HOT AND DELICIOUS! Seriously, everything was so flavorful and fresh. The egg rolls are very big, the noodles had nice charred vegetables throughout, and the fried rice had such good flavor. Highly recommend this place if you are in the SE GR or Wyoming area. I highly recommend to order through their website if you want to further support your local business rather than using Uber Eats or otherwise, you also get more food options that way so it’s a win-win!

I'm writing this review out of frustration this time. (3.16.2024) Great Lakes used to be my favorite restaurant for Chinese food. Now, it's hit and miss. We ordered 3 different meals for dinner, and all 3 meals lacked flavor. I also asked for fried rice instead of white rice, but they gave me white rice and charged me $1.00 extra for fried rice that I never received.I'm not sure what's going on lately, but the prices have gone up several times now, and the quality and portion size are not as good as before. I will still keep supporting Great Lakes, but they need to improve their food to what it used to be.
This is one of our local favorite places for take out. They are very kind and their food has always been good.

They have the absolute best soup. I've been coming here for over 12 years and there hot sour soup is more of a hot and sour stew. and their egg drop soup is always what I use for my chicken soup while I'm sick. This is true comfort food and you would be remiss if you did not try it. Yes is in a strip mall. Yes, it's small but it is one of those local finds that you cannot beat and the people that were here are the absolute best people I've ever met. They remember their regulars like your family get that nowadays. So you got to try this place if you're new to you again. Best soup. I literally go there once a week. Sometimes more if I'm sick

Did the old owner sell it? The last couple of times I've been there the service and the food have been unremarkable. The nice lady that used to work there would always chat with us, but the current younger lady taking orders doesn't speak very good English, so it can be difficult to ask questions let alone provide a good customer experience. I used to love to go here for sizzling rice soup. but now the presentation is lacking. Part of the appeal of sizzling rice soup is the actual sizzle when they bring the parts out to serve it; this doesn't happen anymore. They bring it already mixed up, so it makes me wonder how they're actually preparing it. If it can't be done, right, it should just be taken off the menu Also, the timing of the meals is not so great, each time I've asked for my soup to be brought out with my husband's meal it wasn't. It was brought out first, and to make it worse I have to question the quality. The shrimp in my soup tasted too shrimpy/fishy and the interior of my eggroll was cold. My husband's eggroll was heated all the way through. I'm not sure what's going on here, but we probably won't come back.
