On a slow time of day- around 2pm, we waited for about 5 minutes and still could find no one to greet us or sit us at a table. We finally flagged someone down so we could eat at one of the empty tables. Burgers were not very good. It was clearly a poor quality cut of beef. Asked for a refill and the server disappeared for approximately ten minutes. Ended up walking over to the bar to refill our drinks. The only positive is the view of the lake which is nice. Will not be back.

I heard they had new ownership and a new menu, so I swung in for a quick lunch while I was in town. The atmosphere has always been cool here. My Field of Dreams salad "double chicken" was really good and we got great service from Emma.I order double chicken on every salad I order. I appreciate that they understood double chicken and it tasted great.

gooddddd fooddddd…. went when there was lil pigs going on… veryy fun!! i’m writing this as i’m leaving and there is three factors going on… belly full, a smile on my face, and a feeling of happiness you only feel as a child looking into the sky of the world around you and the mystery that it holds.. the world feeds us happiness through stars, but when the world started to feel bleak and dim.. the universe spoonfed me a star so bright i’m blinded by its beauty, overpowered with its warmth and overwhelming energy.. as i swallow i absorb its light, a smile rises across my formerly empty face, the beauty of the world is shown to me… looking into my eyes you will see something… the star glimmering with every bat of my eyelashes.. i’ve always believed that the world gives us what we need when we don’t expect it. its so peculiar that one little event can fill one with light and warmth, but that is how i feel after eating at the depot of alexandria minnesota.

Called ahead for reservations, sparts are hard for big groups, but they made it work and made sure it was ready on time / a little early. Friendly staff, direct, knew the menu, recommended items. Drinks were good but made in different/ unusual glasses than typical places. Fast service. Delicious food.Parking: Off street parking, along with parking lot.
