Waitress was super nice. Food was not the best.. chicken was overcooked.. not sure if it was even fresh. Fried rice seemed kinda old as well.. probably wouldn't come here again.. unless maybe this was just not a good day to come.

Several options for those who want hibachi or teriyaki chicken to sushi rolls.They adapted well and accommodated our request for a group of 30 from 6:30 to 2:30pm. They were short on chefs (understandably) but did their best. The chefs were fun and interactive.Only complaint about the food was the yum yum sauce. This tasted like runny mayo - I don’t think anyone at our table used this.The ginger sauce was good. Salad and soup are served with each entree. Protein, rice, 2 shrimp, vegetables and Udon noodles (unexpected surprise - yum!!) accompany your hibachi order.Definitely recommend making a reservation when coming here but you’ll leave full and satisfied.The broccoli toss into our mouth was a fun twist!

The sushi was great but the service was terrible. We were seated and waited forty minutes before a waiter approached us. The restaurant had maybe six tables full, it wasn’t super busy. We tried waving down a waitress who saw us and ignored us, continuing to take orders from people who arrived well after us. The hostess at the door was maybe ten feet from our table and in clear view of us did nothing either. The tables around us all ordered and left while we were still waiting. We didn’t want to seem rude or impatient, so we continued to wait. We finally got the attention of a waiter, who came up to us asking if anyone had gotten our order. He was nice and apologized, saying nobody had told him that we hadn’t been served. We got our food, which took about 20-30 minutes to arrive to our table. Great food, but sadly the service was awful.

They have excellent miso soup, so we always stop in when we are in town for hockey. The food took a really long time and was just average this visit. Hopefully it will be better on our next visit!

Sushi rolls and sashimi were excellent!!! Very tasty! Raw oysters were on the small disappointment side but still good, but pass on that.Great service and atmosphere. Will definitely go again for more sushi in the future.
This would of been my third time trying Umi and wanted to give them a third chance because the first two experiences they were busy for oyster night. The food time and service did not change. Only item I got our of my whole order was the triple threat. I would not recommend unless you like their bad cuts of fish mushed together to make to make the roll.
Group of four dining in to enjoy a Sunday dinner. This is our experience with Umi Sushi & Hibachi for our second visit.We waited over 2.5 hours for our food and got one of our appetizer. Was told multiple times that our order was coming soon. After an hour and half later the waiter asked for our order again.40 minutes later our waiter apologized that the sushi bar is backed up but, we saw at least 6 different groups that came an hour AFTER us got their food/sushi and left already. After over 2.5 hours our group decided to ask for our bill. I understand that they are short staffed and can get busy but I would say that this was unacceptable.

Sushi and Oysters are good during happy hours. Besides that, their service is pretty bad. Waited 2 hours and got 2 apps out while we were waiting for our sushi rolls. Waiter came and apologized so many times. There were people that came after us and got their rolls and order brought to them within that time we waited. Seems to be family or friends of the owners/manager or something. It also wasn't just our group that was waiting for food, others around us were as well. They later got their food but 2 hours, we decided to just leave and void our orders. Hopefully their service get better.

This sushi hibachi spot has its highs and lows:Food: The fresh oysters are a standout, and I'll definitely be back for them. The oyster combinations and sauces are creative, maintaining both flavor and freshness. The baked mussels are superb, while the salmon toro is well-balanced and melts in your mouth. Calamari is decent but a bit oily. The hibachi, particularly the steak and noodles, didn't impress me; they were a bit dry and bland, but at least there's sauce on the side. The Volcano Rolls look good but don't taste as good as they look.Staff: Quick, super friendly, and very helpful, ensuring a positive experience.Ambiance: The place is spacious but a tad dark for my liking. I prefer more light. Opting for a booth by the window offers better views and light. Great for big groups.I'll be back for the oysters, baked mussels, and salmon toro, and I plan to explore different rolls and sashimi, considering their reputation. Just a heads up, there's a 3.99% surcharge for credit card payments.
