the food is really good, let me get that out of the way first. my issue is when we called the lady put us on hold and then when she took us off hold she hung up right away. we called back twice and no one answered. pretty lame. the last time we went it was overly crowded and the only open tables hadn’t been cleaned off. thumbs down guys, good food doesn’t make up for subpar service.

Horrible place. Went there once and never will go back. Pizzas are as thin as a Roma cardboard pizza. Also they will put no sauce and no cheese at all. My kid who is young got mad as asked why they didn't have cheese on them. Also waited an hour for the pizza. They put no money into the restaurant and don't clean up spills or messes on the floor. This place is a joke!

I have read a number of good reviews about Pompeii and have been extremely excited to try it out. It, unfortunately, didn't quite live up to my expectations. Maybe I overhyped myself a little. Located in downtown Elk River, it has a quaint, nice small town feel to it. Nice little dining area in the front with the pizza oven in the back. We walked up to the counter to order and were greeted in an awkward manner and the entire ordering experience stayed that way. Awkward. The kid seemed annoyed by our business and not thrilled to be taking our order. We went with a salad and two pizzas. The salad was good. Would have been lights out if the lettuce wasn't so wilty and soggy. The vinaigrette dressing was excellent in my opinion but not for the weak hearted. Both pizzas were just okay. They both were just slightly undercooked in my opinion and a little doughy. These are cooked in a gas over, not wood fired, leaving the pizza with a weird undercarriage and a slight gas taste. I really wanted to love this place but it fell a little short. There are a ton of pizza options on the menu and they all sound excellent. Unfortunately I think they will always fall short with the gas oven.

Ordered red pepper and goat cheese margherita pizza. Red pepper was written on the box but not goat cheese. Looked at the pizza and didn't see any goat cheese looking blobs. My husband called them (he spoke kindly, wasn't mad), to let them know and make sure I wasn't charged for the missing topping. They told me the goat cheese was under the mozzarella. My husband said ok and ended the call. Proceeded to then eat the pizza but alas, no goat cheese as promised. Goat cheese has a strong flavor, I wasn't mistaken. I didn't call again to tell them they were wrong. I wasn't going to fuss any more over $2. It does irk me though that they didn't initially own their mistake. Oh well. Pizza wasn't even that great, lacked flavor/seasoning. Had maybe 3 tiny sprigs of basil on the whole pizza. Was hoping for a place closer to our new house that was similar to Punch Pizza but I was super underwhelmed.

Amazing food, service and atmosphere! First timers trying it out! We let our child choose his own topping... honestly I thought he wouldn't eat it! He ate 1/2 the pizza! Which is a lot for him!! They are allergy friendly and took great care to make sure my pizza was done correctly. I would highly recommend !
