I highly recommend going here if you want some mouthwatering ice cream! My friends and I had just gotten back from a 6 day canoe trip in the Boundary Waters and after a much-needed shower and dinner, we headed to Norther Expressions for some ice cream, the store looked closed since it was! The owner was just locking up but said she would serve our group. THANK YOU!!!! We all left with our tummies full and content.

This was the best I've cream I've ever had! I got a single scoop blueberry cheesecake and homemade waffle cone. At first I thought $7.00 was a bit much but then I saw how much they gave me and then I tasted it. It was AMAZING! So good my mom just saw how much I liked it and got her self some. Like I said earlier best ice cream I've ever had and worth every penny. Also the service was great the people there were so nice.

Wow, tons of ice cream flavors! Anything from pints, waffle cones, pie shakes, even a MINI DONUT SHAKE! There are lots of other treats as well, benches outside, chalk for kids, and a gift shop!

I live in the Ely area and I go to the ice cream shop all the time for great ice cream treats. This recent weekend my son and family were visiting so a group of six of us went to the shop for ice cream. My little granddaughters went for ice cream in a disposable bowl, and they sat down at a kids table in the shop. Adults went for other yummy treats. Myself, I bought a chocolate malted milk which was fantastic -- just the right amount of thick. I would give a higher score than 5 if I could.

LOVE THIS PLACE!! It was an ~85F day here so understandably, they had a suuuuper busy day. We came by at the end and Sarah, the owner and her team member who was there were both so welcoming and friendly and informative! I had the maple shake which features REAL (no corn syrup!) maple syrup from Wild Country in Lutsen, MN. My brother got the Big Muddy chocolate ice cream with caramel and brownie bits in it and he loved that a lot too. Note: a “single” scoop in a bowl translated into a generous three full scoops of ice cream, so that was a perfect amount! They have a huge assortment of flavors here and there is an attached gift shop which we didn’t make it into but look forward to coming back in for. Also, Sarah highly recommmended the Mini Donut Shake so we will likely have to come back for that too! Definitely come visit here while you’re in Ely!

We were told this was a great place to get ice cream and that the pie shakes were awesome.We thought the pies were homemade but found out they are the sugar type out of a box. The shake wasn’t anything to write home about.Customer service was not the best as we tried to get a cup to take the ice cream to go for the kids rather than the bowl… they said no.The salted Carmel ice cream was not good.Overall, this ice cream shop rates at the bottom of the ones we’ve taken the family to over the years.Find the next ma and pop shop or go tonDQ.

The staff at both the gift shop and ice cream parlor are very inviting and welcoming. The gift store has an excellent selection of merchandise and the ice cream in the ice cream parlor has an exceptional range of flavors. This is a must go to while visiting Ely.
