I originally sent this as an email to Apoy, however didn't receive a response.I wanted to write you an email vs. giving a review on google about our experience last night at your restaurant. We showed up for our 6:30 reservation and you were not prepared for our arrival for Kamayan dinner. I called attention to it, and we were asked to sit at the end of the bar & you'll grab us a drink while our table was made up. Please make note, no one ever directly apologized to us for this mix up, just shuffled us around. At the end of the bar, their was an open chair, but the guest never offered to move her purse so one of us could have a seat. We stood at the end of the bar for 45 min, we were seated at 7:15. Those drinks should have 100% been comped for the mix up and 45 min wait, they were not.We paid for a babysitter last night and choose to try your restaurant amongst 100s of other choices. Yes, the additional 45 min costed us extra. You asked us to "show up" so much as to requiring a credit card in advance. The irony is YOU didn't "show up" for us last night, with not even an apology for the mix up.

I gave this place five stars when it first opened. When I learned they were closing, I wanted to support the restaurant and had invited many friends to join me to have a meal at Apoy. That was a huge mistake! It appears they should have closed a long time ago based on the food we were served. It’s unbelievable that they served a national Filipino dish, chicken adobo by deep frying the chicken served with a side of water down soy sauce. Even my non - pinoy friends that have had adobo in the past were first to question if indeed they were served the right meal. Unfortunately, that is one example of all the bad meals we were all served. Our server Andrew was amazing; however, the very obvious stressed out owner was extremely rude.

We came between 8PM to 9PM, there were probably 2 or 3 tables occupied. We were assisted to a table right away. Orders were taken but it took so long for the food to come out. Most of the food we ordered were not too bad but not what you expect from a filipino restaurant, but the chicken adobo was way too far from the adobo that you knew all your life. Definitely not a place to go to for authentic filipino cuisine

Was a bit out of my way, and was difficult to find parking, but was definitely worth the hassle. Can't sat enough about this cozy little gem.
The location of the restaurant is convenient. The menu has plenty of delicious options. The time between ordering and receiving the meal was short. I am looking forward to going here again.

Apoy was the first Filipino spot I tried in the Twin Cities and I'm disappointed to say it wasn't what I was hoping it to be. The food had some flavor but was overpowered by the taste of salt. Otherwise the service staff was incredibly friendly and the atmosphere felt nice!
Fantastic food! Ordered 7 dishes and they were all great. Highly recommend!! Our Vegan even found something delish.Only slight bummer was music was a little loud and had Mad Max on, which is okay except if there’s kids around.

I make the drive to come here once a month! I HIGHLY recommend the Bangus Milk Fish, hands down the best I’ve ever had!!! It’s the most unique tasting fish in the ocean in my opinion, along with the Smokey grill taste, it is out of this world! 5/5 recommend! Bring your friends.????????????????
We are so sad that Apoy is closing this month. We had to get in a for a quick treat.

The flavors here are just fantastic. The pickled papaya just offsets the salt and fat from these traditional entrees. Absolutely loved it.
