If I could give zero stars instead of one I would. A few weeks ago I met my partner here to do some work in the morning and I had the barista come up to me while they were cleaning the table next to ours (having being sat down for maybe 10 min at that point) and they passively agressively asked, "can I get anything for you?" with a huge smile on their face as if they were wait staff at a restaurant. Slightly confused, I said, "no, I'm fine," and they responded with, "well if you're gonna stay here, then you need to get something." Unfortunately, I was too shocked and stunned in the moment by the confrontation that I didn't register that I should've just walked out of the coffee shop in that moment. It's sad to see a local business (that I loved !) be so money hungry and anti-third space...aka NOT for the community. I fully understand supporting local businesses but might I add that my partner got something and I've been to plenty of places (in and out of the state) where it's usually fine when someone you're with gets something and you don't (especially if you don't actually want anything)...on top of the fact that I would come to this coffee shop at other times and actually buy stuff. ANYWAYS this was a very bad and disheartening experience I had at bob's java hut and I will not be coming here ever again. **I usually do not waste my time writing reviews but I wanted to share my experience because I also wanted to add that I PERSONALLY DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE OR WELCOMED AS A PERSON OF COLOR being confronted by a middle aged white woman acting passive aggressive - I would've hoped working in the service industry would've taught this individual some people skills but it's clear that there's some room for growth...save yourself the trip and walk down the street to Caffetto instead where you'll actually find a welcoming community.

Haven't been there in a while but I'm so glad to see they are still there. Great coffee, service(quick and efficient) and the atmosphere is THE best I've ever experienced in a coffee house. The staff is friendly and so are the customers. Outside seating is great. I love that there are spaces, on the street, reserved for motorcycles. Prices, for a coffee house of this caliber, are inexpensive. I used to live in the neighborhood and Bob's became my go to. Thank you.

Motorcycle-themed coffee shop. Kind of pricey and no comfortable chairs to be had. Best looking thing about the place are the motorcycle parked out front and the occasional dog visitor.... woof, woof!!

Bob’s Java Hut is a nice coffee shop in Uptown. The servers are cool and the crowd is chill. The menu isn’t expansive but is affordable. The hot cider is definitely worth a try if you want something that isn’t caffeinated. It’s a great study spot, too.

Amazing shop. The baristas were friendly, and the vanilla latte tasted great. The strawberry cream cheese pastry was amazing!

Great coffee shop with both your standard coffee options and more customized drinks. Their savory pastries were phenomenal, and they can toast it for you!

Good coffee, service and a super cool local vibe; one of the best indie coffee spots in Minneapolis. Great Mexican hot chocolate!

I'm a biiiiiig fan of Bob's!! As an uptown resident, Bob's is my go-to coffee shop. The vibe is very chill inside, there's always people working or meeting friends for coffee. Sometimes people bring their dogs in too! Bob's is my favorite place to bring a book to enjoy with my coffee and a pastry, which are both very delicious of course! Definitely check out Bob's if your looking for a comfy local coffee shop!

Drove 20 minutes to try Bob's and it well exceeded my expectations. I would change a thing.

Mostly the nicest barristas you could ask for. Prices are comparable to other coffee shops in uptown, so they are slightly overpriced, but so is everything now. Always good tunes rolling inside the old-school racer aesthetic interior. Personally, i only get basic coffee drinks like lattes or cold brews, but the creativity with their specialty drinks is commendable (they sound delicious too). Fully recommended ?
