You walk in into a small yet inviting waiting area with a small bar. If you got the pre drink package, you get a small menu of crafted cocktails or you can ask the bartender to make your own. After your introductory drink, they take you to the dining area which is a U shaped are with the kitchen in the center. You get an amazing experience from start to finish with 7 to 11 courses; you won't leave hungry. The wine pairing is carefully selected for a perfect match to each dish. The food is TOP NOTCH. They way the flavors come together in your pallet is really an experience you need to have for yourself.

We’re hard to impress, fussy and difficult. This place continues to top our list of the best in the Twin Cities and even US/worldwide.Yes, it’s deserving of at least two Michelin stars. The ambience, cuisine, and staff are remarkable.Yes, you might need to save up for a dinner here although the Barrington option offered Wednesday, Thursdays and Sundays is lovely and a steal at $95/pp.Yes, every time you go the experience will be a bit different yet still the same in some ways with those gooey, warm Rice Krispie treats at the end as an example.Yes, the staff is passionate and eager to share their expertise and showcase their knowledge with you and….Yes, you will feel cared about and valued as a guest. Every time.

Our experience at Demi was truly eye opening to what a world class fine dining experience could be. The work that is being done here is something that Minnesota should take pride in. Demi puts us on the map to the rest of the fine dining world.

I love to cook, and I love dining out. I love to try new foods and foods cooked in different ways. I find the complex mixtures of ingredients to make a totally new dish fun and exciting. If this is you, you will adore Demi. The food is sublime, the ambience serene, and the service is impeccable and joyful. From the moment we stepped inside, we felt welcomed. We started with a warm broth made from roasted beets. Light and warming. The first course was a triple. The sweet potato tart with pickled kombu, nori, black truffle, and miso was absolutely scrumptious. The other two small bites were lovely, but, oh my, that sweet potato tart! These were followed with a lovely fresh scallop crudo, beautifully plated. I adore foie gras, and the Demi version was slices of a terrine served with prune and preserved lemon. The foie gras was smooth; this was really yummy. The fish course was sturgeon, interestingly served with rutabaga puree and little slices of crispy rutabaga. This really worked. The pasta dish was so delicious, and I mean really, really delicious. This is the type of pasta you think about for days. These were chestnut agnolotti, served with celery root, cognac cream, and pomegranate. I could have eaten a huge bowl of these. A triumph in flavor and texture. Mmmmm! The duck and beef courses were also delicious, cooked perfectly, with perfect accomplishments. I had to laugh at the cheese course, as it was actually a cheese tartlet, with endive marmalade and pine nuts. These were perfect. We had a delicious sorbet palate cleanser, and a very interesting sunchoke bavaroise and ice cream dessert. And you leave with a little box of candies. This is a nice touch.Eating here is an adventure in deliciousness. Every dish is beautifully plated on interesting service ware. Your water glass never goes unfilled. You are served at your own pace. The staff is clearly and justly proud of what they are serving you.I have eaten at some magnificent restaurants in Copenhagen, Barcelona, France, and this absolutely meets the standard of those Michelin starred restaurants - and better than some.It is not cheap. You know what you are getting into when you reserve your table. However, the food is divine. If you like to know what you are going to eat before you get it, this is not the place for you. If sturgeon with rutabaga puree gives you pause, this is not the place for you. If, however, you are willing to put your meal in some very capable hands, and don't bat an eye at eating smoked white fish, broccolini, and caviar, you will fall in love with Demi.

Simply exquisite. My partner and I came in expecting to be wowed and our expectations were 100% exceeded. From the start of service to the end, Demi staff were detailed, intentional, and kind. The cook on the duck was perfect--love the use of caraway seeds. The beef course had a gorgeous presentation and the cabbage roll was exciting and delicious. The temperance pairing was phenomenal. Having the demi 19 pairing with the with the beef was exactly as Laura (the bartender) put it, made me not miss wine.Thank you Demi for taking such good care of us and for giving us a night to remember!

Weee! That was fun. No idea what the second seating is doing, our reservation was at 5:30, didn't get home till after 9. Go early, it's an adventure. Even the bathroom was meditative and romantic. Not sure what else to say about it. It's a great experience. All the dishes were fantastic but for me the vegetables really shined. I know a full 11 course vegetarian menu would never sell but they could pull it off.

A truly memorable dining experience, definitely lives up to the high praise. We had been waiting for a while to visit Demi, we had seen the stellar reviews for a few years now. The dining experience is very immersive with the open kitchen format. Being able to speak to the chefs as they deliver each course, really helped us understand the creativity and depth of flavors in each dish. As a fan of the Netflix Show “Chef’s Table”, this is first dining experience I’ve had in Minneapolis that felt like a world-class fine dining experience like you would see on Chef’s Table.

Really fantastic dining experience. Delicious food as expected. What was unexpected was how comfortably casual it felt and the wine pairings were both interesting and exceptionally on point. Surprisingly good value since other tasting menus in Michelin guide cities are much more expensive and more difficult to get a reservation. Really fortunate to have this available in Minneapolis.

We were so sad to be so disappointed during our experience at Demi. We had gone there before and had a great experience, and this one was definitely not at the same level as last time. The wine selections for the pairings were subpar and five dollar bottles of wine and the food just didn’t meet the expectations of a Superior Restaurant like this. When I expressed dissatisfaction about being served apple cider with a dish, the server condemned me for my dissatisfaction. She was so rude throughout the whole night. We just couldn’t believe it. We will not be back. For the price that you pay for an experience like this, we would’ve expected far better.

This is a review for a meal we had in Oct and it was our 3rd time at Demi to celebrate a birthday. Things started off really well and my husband got a cocktail while we waited to be seated. I found about half of the dishes to be outstanding, while the rest were just OK.The blue nose was not pleasant and quite fishy, with not enough flavors to offset. Our transition from that dish to the parsnip agnolotti took no joke 30-40 minutes. Since we did the reserve wine pairing, they had already poured the wine and we had no idea it would take that long. By the time the dish came, our wine temp was off and it was just overall a vibe kill. I noticed people who started their meals after us had been served the agnolotti before us so maybe they just messed up. However, there was zero acknowledgement from any of the staff. Lastly, when the bill came they charged me for an additional cocktail which I did not order so I had to ask them to correct it.While all the reviews for this place seem to be stellar, it *should* be when you spend $500+ for 2 people on a meal. I debated giving this 4 stars but the experience did not justify it.

Id have to say that this is now my favorite restaurant in Minneapolis. I just got back from Miami. Ate at all the best places there. Sea Spice, Papi Steak, Zuma, Mayami. The food at these places is great, and you get the entertainment and the over the top presentation. What’s nice about Demi is that they pre-plan for you each small plate with a high end wine or rice wine that pairs perfectly with it. So you get to taste so many different dishes and have a perfect compliment to go with each part of the meal. Most restaurants will hand you a wine list and maybe recommend a wine with your steak. This place has it all figured out. More restaurants should do this. I was surprised I like the scallops, and the caviar, when normally I don’t. I’ve also never been real impressed with venison at any restaurant before, but here it was amazing. Right down to the deserts everything on point. If there’s a downside to the place, you need to book a reservation way in advance, and it’s also expensive. But coming from Miami, it’s actually much more affordable and you get a way better dining experience. I would go hungry. You’ll get filled up and can get pretty hammered drinking fine wine and or nice cocktails.
