This is my home! I love this club so much... I've been going every weekend for the past 8 years and have found my community here.

As an alt queer person I am sad with the recent changes to Zero. This used to be a safe space for the queer, kink, and alt communities. In the past I not once have ever felt the need to cover my drink or be self-conscious about my body. But now… I absolutely have to cover my drink and watch my back. I’ve had straight men harass me and inappropriately touch me and others in this bar. I’ve been body-shamed by this sudden influence of skinny white girls who give off mean girl bully and influencer vibes (and who are adamant they’re “not *slurs*” in a bar known for being a queer space). The performers don’t mingle with the crowd anymore and stay hidden all night. There’s no more diversity in the performers either and I’m getting very strong cliquey vibes from these new performers.Overall I’m extremely disappointed at how this club is being managed now. Ground Zero is no longer a safe space and I strongly advise any queer, kink, and alt community members to enter this club with extreme caution.

Super fun place, great DJs and a unique experience that you can't get anywhere else. Don't be boring dancing to kesha, go to ground zero and let it rip!

This is a gimmick club for regular people who like the idea of goth and darkness. This club was giving Halloween party for older white people. The music was almost entirely one single beat that had old white mom music mixed in. They played maybe 4 actual goth songs all night and the dancefloor cleared because no one there knew actual goth music. The decorations are very Halloween but not very goth. The staff dresses in literal costumes with bright wigs and they all looked super angry all night. The performance was just some strippers rolling around on a bed pretending to have sex. The drinks were also very weak and even though we ordered off the menu the bartender didn't know how to make the drink she was following the menu.

I used to love coming here. Great atmosphere and fun times. But my last visit left a very bad impression. One of the lady bar tenders with dark hair on the first floor was very rude to me. I had been waiting in line for a drink and she was serving everyone else so I was talking to some friends while she finished up, when she came back to the bar I moved back to order a drink and she very rudely told me that I just got to the bar so she wasn't going to take my order when I had been standing there for about 15 mins already and proceeded to help everyone else besides me even others that got to the bar after me. Worst service I've ever received in an establishment, and I am a server myself, and I was very taken aback by how I was treated here. I won't be coming back, and it's sad to say because I used to think of this place as a safe space for people who are different.. Also the drinks I received were very weak pours. Not worth the money I spent there.

This place used to be a haven for alt folx with varied interests, with incredible shows, talented artists of all sorts, dope music, welcoming staff who made you feel safe, and an awesome vibe. I went there a fair amount when I was younger and loved it.I recently went back for a show with an EDM headliner, and had the complete opposite experience. The staff were, uninterested and unengaged at best and downright rude and snappy and insulting at worst. I make it a point to be very kind and welcoming to all kinds of people (learned it from a young age, and as a young adult, in part FROM places like GZ), so I hope that I'm always polite to everyone, especially so to staff anywhere I go (I know what the service industry is like, and I go the extra mile to be a good patron in general). The staff here was shockingly rude. Whenever I went to order a drink, every bartender I interacted with (a total of 3 I believe) actually sneered as they barked "What do you want?" before I could even say hello. I also tip fairly well, at least 20% (usually more) and did so despite the rude treatment, but one bartender in particular scoffed when looking at the receipt I placed back towards their side of the bar.(The drinks were pretty bad as well)Security was needlessly rude, yelling at people who honestly didn't appear to be doing anything wrong (including in our group). Someone even come into the bathroom--apparently to check on its occupants--and screamed at a couple of people in a stall (one was feeling ill and the other was clearly helping them) that only one person could be in a stall. The show itself was phenomenal, but the whole experience was so very much the opposite of what I used to find there--I actually felt less welcome and even safe in some ways than at most other venues in the Cities.Ground Zero is no longer a haven for anyone, least of all alt crowds, it seems. I won't be going back or encouraging anyone else to visit unless I hear about some big changes there. Not the vibe.

Staff are rude and mean to all. Epspecially women and LGBT people here. Not a confortable place for myself or friends. This place could be such a great hangout for the goth/rivethead community but they don't give a heck about the scene. They want your money and thats all they care about. They would do so much better if they lost the overly aggressive bouncer act, made the BDSM area enclosed, worked WITH the local scene and got a promoter who could bring in national goth and industrial groups.Ground Zero is the biggest let down for myself as a local goth. The epitome of potential, but no sense in ever fulfilling it.0/5 stars

The staff at Ground Zero are truly yikes. Standing between the bondage show area and dance floor with my back turned to The Chapel, when there wasn’t even a show in progress, I was absolutely berated by a staff member for having my phone out a few moments prior. I fully acknowledged that I still made a misstep on my end but don’t think I deserved to be talked to with such disrespect, the employee was shining a flashlight in my eyes and clearly trying to intimidate me. Looking at the other reviews, clearly there is an issue with the way staff members treat their patrons. It seems obvious to me that these people were bullied in their lives and now for some reason want to use whatever “authority” they have as bar employees to bully others which is pretty pathetic.I understand working in the service industry can be beyond frustrating but if you are unable to treat people with a little common decency, especially those who aren’t regulars and may not be familiar with the status quo and may miss a sign or make an honest mistake, then you’re in the wrong line of work.Giving 2 stars because if you’re looking for cheap, weak drinks and can overlook trashy employees, this is the place for you -- enjoy!
