I've never felt safer anywhere else. This is my home bar. I love the karaoke by Steve, who is amazing. My favorite bartender is Dwayne. He is an amazing guy who will make sure you are taken care of. The other Karaoke people such as Serenity, Oliver and Rosé are awesome as well. I have never had a bad time here. All staff are there to make sure you have a good time. It is always top notch!

Hayley runs a great trivia here on Wednesdays. HIGHLY RECOMMEND— it’s the most fun I’ve had doing trivia :D

This used to be a nice place and a nice area. Not any longer. What happened? We all know the answer.

Went here after a Broadway show at the Ordway Theatre and it was disgusting. It smelt like fruit flies and mold. The bartender who had dreadlocks made my drink after coming inside from smoking a cigarette without washing her hands. She was also very strange, maybe drunk(?) and made me and my entire party feel extremely uncomfortable. There are way too many fun bars in the uptown area to waste your time here. You’d be better off going to Iconos, Iron Door Pub, or Up Down.

I visited here Saturday night 11/25/23 around 9:25 pm. The bouncers need to be educated on service animals. I came with my medic alert service dog in training who goes with me to medical appointments (including Mayo Clinic) TSAs in multiple airports don’t even blink at, and the greenhorn bouncer at this place not only gave me an unnecessarily hard time, but when I asked what they would have done if I was a blind person coming in with a seeing eye dog, the bouncer replied “what would a blind person be doing in a bar???” The level of ignorance and sheer ableism in that response told me everything. Because, wow, disabled people don’t have lives and can’t enjoy parts of life that every one else does??? I told the bouncer that disabled people are everywhere. We are every kind of person imaginable, and we are everywhere. The bouncers here clearly need education on people with disabilities, inclusion and accessibility, as well as service animals and what the ADA guidelines and laws are. I can’t help but wonder what happens when actual veterans come in with their service animals. Unbelievable. I will not be patronizing this establishment again. Bouncers, work on your ignorance and ableism for the sake of every other disabled person that will ever come in those doors and have you try to deny access to them. You can’t do your job correctly if you don’t know accessibility laws. This should be included in standard training for any bouncer, anywhere. The VFW in uptown, you are a disgrace.

Horrible place, some greasy cook was yelling at us in the parking lot saying “better be going to the vfw”He looked angry and aggressive so my partner and I left and didn’t even walk in the front door. Weak staff

I love this bar because the bouncers are the best I have ever seen! I hope the worlds venues are watching because the security here make sure it's a safe environment for everyone to have a good time. ? ? ?

Best spot in uptown for karaoke and tacos! Killer shows in the hall. Friendly and diverse crowd. Always a great time to be had by all!

I wasn’t drinking just spent some time with family who was here. I was told I could leave my car over night with an orange parking pass which I received from the bartender. When I went out to my car I. the parking lot security starts scream at me calling me names for no reason and was VERY aggressive. I noticed earlier this evening that he was harassing others patrons, so I refused to respond to him calling me names. He was easily abusing his “power”. With a person this aggressive easily could turn a situation very badly either on the outside, or create a patrons to turn into an aggressive/ defensive mode enter this establishment. I would’ve felt safer if a homeless person to watch my vehicle.VFW MUST FIRE THE OLDER SECURITY GUARDThe 2 other security indoors were pleasant. If he is willing to be this aggressive at 8:30pm imagine how aggressive he will be at 2am.After everything: I spoke with the bar twice to report the altercation with the outside security guard and now to confront that they towed my car after giving me the okay to leave it for the night WITH a VAILD VFW parking pass…

Came here to see a show. Staff has a really weird vibe and clearly doesn't care to help you if you aren't a regular. I could see that the drinks were watered down, so I ordered a bottled beer. Even that wasn't safe--the bottle was warm and overpricedVenue itself has poor acoustics, nobody really on the dance floor. There are too many good options in Uptown to waste your time here.

Great security! Everyone was friendly and helpful but you knew they were there. They have a private parking lot behind the place and by the time I got out of my car the lot security was there to verify I was going into the VFW. The used a radio to check in with someone else. This is a great thing. When I left I spotted at least one security person monitoring the lot.The food was decent and arrived quickly and the place was clean

So ….. I drove 23 hours to come see a friend sing karaoke , get away from my job as a corrections officer and fellow security guard supervisor . I figured as a veteran I could go somewhere to support . The vfws in Rhode Island , Louisiana and Texas are awesome so I didn’t expect anything less here. Unfortunately I vaped once and put the vape down when I was told there was no vaping allowed in the facility . I totally understood. My vape was immediately taken by the bouncer with the dreads. I asked for it back before singing my second song . Then the bartender kicked me and my best friend out by walking up to the dj telling her that I wasn’t allowed to sing . I stood my ground asking for my vape back because I listened and did nothing wrong. Honestly IDC….we left. We felt burdened asking the bartenders for drinks anyway. It was unwelcoming to begin with but we dealt with it until this happened .it was super simple to just give me a warning and move on. No need to take the vape away from me. It’s not like I was still doing it. Such a turn off for our first night here in Minnesota.
