Love the food!3 out of 4 times I make an order in their app, I see the price, then delete it and go somewhere that’s a better value. For the same price you can get two meals out of others places.

Food is good. Banh mi is good. I'd bring my non Vietnamese friends here maybe. I wouldn't bring family here who are looking for a Vietnamese atmosphere. I personally won't come here again, but if you don't have a connection to the food here, it's good enough!

Updated review: I recently returned on a tuesday evening and the spring rolls (large portion size) and banh mis were delicious (fresh soft bread and flavorful chicken & pork), but there might be some inconsistency bc it was noticeably different from past experiences. I would say that on average two years ago the banh mi was around a 6/10 but my most recent visit was a 10/10. Hoping my latest visit is more typical!

I stopped in after not having visited for a few years. I'd say the interior has gone a bit downhill and the vibe is pretty sad. I didn't realize they switched to ordering from a kiosk which would be fine but there is only one. This makes it slow during busy times. In case you care the cream cheese wontons are sweet - I think that is something to note as not all food joints make them sweet. I prefer a savory cc wonton but they were still okay.I am sure I will be back for a quick bite but IMO there are better options for traditional banh mi in the Twin Cities.

This place is gross now. I used to go here a lot and it was great, but I gave it a couple tries recently to make sure it wasn't just a bad day. First off, the cleanliness is worrisome. The people preparing your food are wearing gloves, but doing everything in them and not changing them out (operating the touchscreen, then putting their hand straight into the fresh veggie containers when there are tongs). They don't seem to tidy up the prep areas. Also, honestly, if it at least tastes good I would have bumped the rating up, but the beef and pork in the bowls tasted like they overcrowded the grilltop when they cooked then (boiled taste and texture). Such a bummer, I loved this place. Just go to an old school Vietnamese place instead. This place is just coasting off their former good reputation.

Simply amazing!!! You're not going to find a better Vietnamese sandwich around. Lu's makes a top notch banh mi. When I come to Lu's I usually go with their pork sandwich, however any meat option is amazing. Also, don't forget to try their amazing egg rolls.

Food is pretty great! Sides and drinks are a little pricey but overall love it here. Bahn mi bread has a wonderfully crispy crust without being hard and tearing your mouth up, toppings are plentiful, mock duck is flavorful. Food is prepared fast.

Really terrible. My partner and I went in for the first time today and it was not a good experience. After ordering two sandwiches and specifically choosing extra mayonnaise, we sat and started to eat. There was no mayonnaise on my sandwich, let alone extra. Not a big deal to me, so I politely walked to the counter and asked for an extra side of mayo. The woman behind the counter said no, and by the anxious look on her face, it seemed like she knew that it was very strange to say no. She pointed me toward the cook behind her who anxiously shrugged his shoulders and also said "No, I'm sorry", then pointed toward the back room and walked away. A moment later he returned with who I am assuming was the manger or the owner. With no introduction, or hello, she rudely said "What do you want". Confused, I politely explained I was looking for an extra side of mayo, as there was none on my sandwich. She said "No, if you want extra mayo, it has to go directly on your sandwich and we will NOT give out a side of mayo.*Remember that my sandwich is already on my table and I have already taken a bite, so it is not possible to send the food back half eaten, over the counter. This means that the sandwich I ordered with mayo, and actually paid for extra mayo, she is telling me I have no choice but to accept - they refuse to fix it.I half expected her to start laughing as it seemed like a joke, but finally asked if she was serious - that I was not allowed to have the extra mayo that I had ordered. She said yes. I told her that seemed crazy, and if that was the case that we would not be returning.THEN. She shrugged her shoulders, smiled....... and said "Good"We were so baffled and mortified that we took both of our sandwiches, brought them back to the counter, told them they could keep their food and walked out.Would never return.
