We got the pulled pork and jerked chicken boned in. Both very delicious and flavorful. We also got fry rub wings, it's ok. I think the dry rub was too over powering. Can't wait to try the oxtail next time.

I have had alot of respect for Pimento Jamaican restaurant since it started in the Burnsville Center mall. But they have downgraded the last two times I found hair in the food, wings were way too salty, and the staff acted rudely towards me when I showed her. I don't know if the original owner still owns this place but they have downgraded.

The food is overly priced, some of the rice tasted really hard and the food was bland tasting... I will not be ordering food from here again nor will I recommend it to anyone......such a major disappointment. If I could give it 1/2 a star I would!!!!

Update: this is my first time here in about 6-12 months, normally the food here is great but my last 2 visits were just bad. Today my slaw was literally just chopped cabbage no seasoning, the rice n beans were mushy and again no flavor. The pulled chicken was great but smaller portions than i used to get. To top it off they get only 2 stars because they frequently dont have the super hot sauce i drive 40minutes for so I finally have to give them a poor review. I know I'll be back and hopefully I'll get the great food and sauce I'm accustomed to.

Here's an inexpensive and satisfying lunch place that fooled us into thinking it was new because the owner came out of the kitchen mid meal and struck up a friendly conversation, then ducked back into the kitchen to give us a complimentary sampler of sauces for our j*** kitchen and then waxed rhapsodic about places we should explore nearby to walk off our meal. He was an ambassador and concierge and benefactor as well as our host. My wife and I realized he'd been in business for a decade, but sustains his warmth and enthusiasm because he clearly loves Minneapolis and his customers. Well, we love him back!

Great Choice for Fast Casual Takeout We stumbled across this spot after visiting the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. In person dining stops at 7:30, but takeout was still available. The options for vegetarians are limited but what is available is tasty. The curried vegetables have the right balance of savory and sweet. Most entrees, including the curried vegetables, are served over coconut rice and beans. The rice was nicely flavored but the beans were not cooked properly. It may have been a one off problem. I was also disappointed with the sparsity of beans. As a vegetarian, I too want protein so either the rice needs more beans or perhaps they could be sold as a side. My partner ordered the pork and enjoyed it. We might stop by again, but we probably would not drive out of our way to stop.

best of best place to be. definently defines Minnesota nice inna Jamdown aka Jamaican Caribbean style with authentic themes of African to American music. this place is honest and friendly. everyone seems like family members no matter if u jus walked in or a regular. best Employees, best food, best music, etc. parking is sometimes an issue but in 5 minutes everything always goes ur way. McDonalds next door cant compare or compete either. #BMjr12 #KaBangi #BMjr #KaBangiShakaSpear #KaBANGIPapaRASTA #voted Top 10 in everything

Longing for the taste of home and was told about this place. It was not what I expected. I don’t know if it’s a ? yaardie making the food or he left instructions for someone else because I am disappointed in the taste is the food. Not to mention the persons serving the food was all over the place and just throwing the food in the box and answering calls talking over the box of food in her hands instead of putting it aside and handle her phone call. The setting of the food in the plate was like “slap dash”. Meaning that you just grab stuffs and throw it in not caring where it lands. I was annoyed the whole time. SMH.

Delicious Caribbean J*** chicken that falls right off the bone. Everything is made to go, but there is open seating indoors. It's also connected to a Jamaican bar, open at night. The ranch side sauce is also DELICIOUS with a little extra kick, a new but familiar sauce.

Our favorite restaurant....love the j*** pork, curry chicken and amazing unique dry rub wings. The sides of rice, slaw and plantains are also delicious.

I went to Pimento for lunch on a Friday. My dad and I tried the goat curry, vegetable curry, and shredded chicken - all of which tasted pretty good. The food didn't knock my socks off, but I enjoyed everything. To order, you see and point to the food as in a cafeteria. The restaurant also has a bar that seems worth checking out on a Friday or Saturday night.

Really excellent. Had my food delivered, it took a little while and it still arrived piping hot. The Kingston style j*** chicken and beef patty was all wonderful. Spicy! But what more can you ask for on a freezing cold night in Minneapolis.
