Sorely disappointed. This was our first stop on vacation, and we were very much looking forward to trying the ever-famous Surly Brewing. We weren’t fans of the overall hands-off service approach, no flights offered and 2-taster limit. The two brews I tried were average but that was all I was allowed to try, otherwise I would have explored further.Sad to say, we would not go back.

Awesome brewery with lots and lots of good beer to try. They also have wood fire pizzas upstairs which are also incredible. Anyone should make a stop if you're in the area.

Awesome food & beer. The service was TOP NOTCH! You can use the QR code to order both food & beer or order beer from the bar line. Surley adds a 20% service charge to all orders. The staff was super attentive and even our kids commented on how quickly our food arrived.

Only problem with Surly is the parking sitch. It’s TOO popular and the lot is always full every time we go.But that said, it’s truly a wonderful place. Huge to say the least. Eclectic amd artsy decor, enormous taproom, spectacular outdoor area including tables and greenery, and lots of space for kids to run around. Most recently our 5 and 2 year olds played stacking flat rocks ensconced by a little tucked away pine grove. The food is fast and delicious, and the beer hits the spot. We’ll be back again and again.

Great place to meet up with friends.

The fried chicken sandwich is surprisingly good. Really love the tangy sauce they used. The tacos, while overpriced, are quite tasty.

We stopped here last weekend for food and drinks with some friends. This is one of my favorite breweries. We ordered half of the food on the menu, and every dish was delicious. The environment is super cool, and the staff is fast and friendly. We will be stopping here anytime we are in town.

The beer was good and the food was average. I’m posting a 1 star review because of the way my party was treated by the staff. We were having a good time but when it came time to pay the bill, the staff took photos of our credit card against our consent, but being new to the country, we didn’t know if this was a standard practice in the US or not. However, having been to countless other breweries ever since, I can definitely say that this is not the case. We are Indian, and this was the only visible difference between us and the other diners, and I did not see this behavior with any of the other diners that day. Much as I hate to jump to conclusions, I must say that this place probably treats people of certain ethnic persuasions with suspicion as compared to others. This was the first brewery I visited in America and to be treated like this was downright disgusting. I will very strongly recommend against this place if you don’t look American. Luckily there are plenty of other amazing breweries in Minneapolis with warm and friendly staff who don’t make you feel like a common criminal because of the way you look.Edit: this happened around a year back and I’m posting this now because I was recently reminded of it by a friend who asked me how this place was. One can only hope they’ve hired more “educated” staff by now lol

Beer was great but all the food was very dry.

Great overall experience - excellent food, beer and ambiance. The only reason I can't give it a 5 star review is because there' an automatically included 20% service charge, which leaves no discretion. Service is typically good though and the atmosphere is truly unique and hard to beat. These guys know what they're doing and it's the perfect spot for a warm summer evening!!

Always a great atmosphere. The pizza is top tier and the beer selection never disappoints. If you are not into crowds and/or waiting in lines, avoid on the weekends.
