Between all the ice cream places in Owatonna, I highly recommend giving the Blast a try. I really like the cookie dough (blizzard). It incorporated the cookie dough rather than just having chunks within the ice cream, not to mention the spoonful on top. They also are willing to customize. My go to is cookie dough with a little hot fudge mixed in. Oh, and the kids love going there and then going for a walk on the walking path right by the river.

I live 30 minutes away from Owatonna but I'll eagerly go out of my way to stop at the Blast for ice cream. They do something with the recipe that makes their soft serve taste truly delicious. It makes DQ taste like powdered skim milk. THE PRICES! Half of what you pay at DQ. I usually get a medium cone. The ice cream stands about 8 inches above the cone.There are very few days in a year that are a bad day for Ice Cream.

The food is always amazing and such large portions too. After trying the cookie dough flurry, I knew I'd be back. My family and I now frequent it. Definitely worth the drive. The blugoo cone, strawberry shakes, the hot fudge sundae and of course the pup cups for the dogs were especially delicious today. The pumpkin spice was amazing too. The service is always great and the location next to the River and bridge is very relaxing. They do have some seating too which is nice while you wait. Wait isn't too bad even when there's a line. I will return! I can't wait to try the next ice cream treat when we come that way.

Do not get the cookie dough!! You will get food poisoning. So many people are getting sick. Please be careful it tastes good but makes you sick. If you are running a business the first thought should be the safety of the customers.

First, if that was a small, I wonder what a large looks like. Second, there was so much hot fudge...I was in heaven! They also have free pup cups when you order. Our little Alice was in heaven, too.
