This was the best meal I've ever had. I couldn't even understand how it was so good.It was the second time my husband and I have visited - the first time was great too. This time though, I got the filet and it was amazing. The asparagus was perfectly cooked. My husband realized at the end that he cut his whole filet with his butter knife! We got the Caramel Gelato at the end and I was thinking "this better be something special for $9.....". Oh my gosh. It was. I can't even express how wonderful it was - so so smooth and concentrated with flavor (the perfect hint of salt at the end of each bite).She's a good one. Spendy... but worth it.

The place is so up and down. Normally the food and service is wonderful..we do frequent this place as it is close. Last Saturday we went there with friends from out of town. We had a cocktail and chatted for a bit. We ordered our dinner and so far was good. Then our waitress brought out 3 of the 4 meals. We ordered 1 house special with the fillet and scallops, 2 fillets, and a lobster tail dinner. We also ordered two sides to share. One of the filets she brought out was supposed to be med rare. It was well done. The lobster was minuscule. The next fillet was supposed to have peppercorn sauce. It had a different sauce that my husband didn't care for.. my dinner came after everyone was almost done eating. It was charred and raw and cold when I cut into it. We told the waitress. She said she would give us a discount on the screwed up steaks..then she put our bill on the table..plates hadn't even been cleared. We said we were going to order dessert. She said we had to leave as there was people needed the table. There were 2 empty tables by us! We snarfed down our dessert. No offer of coffee or after dinner drinks. We got one $20 credit for my steak. Nothing on the others. So if you want a quick dinner, I guess this is the place to go. And hopefully you will get what you ordered!

Let's start with the positives: the food was great, service was prompt, and the ambiance was warm and intimate. However, the cocktails were alarmingly bad. Absolutely the worst old fashioned I've ever had (not an exaggeration - tasted like rail whiskey with a splash of bitters and a sad cherry), which soured the experience. We would go back, but will skip the cocktails and opt for wine next time.

Sul Lago is one of our favorite date night spots. It's very inconspicuous from the outside but the atmosphere inside is excellent, we've never had bad service and the food is fantastic! I'd highly recommend the duck.

This used to be our go to restaurant, but our last visit may be our last. The service was good, but the portions have been cut in half and the prices have increased. The food is good but since the portion sizes have decreased so much, including the appetizers while increasing the prices, we can no longer recommend this place. We left still hungry.

The best Italian in the Midwest. I grew up N end Italian in Boston. Great menu options with Italian to include exceptional seafood. We got #pizza on a Friday by 'special' chef request. Pizza is only M-Th. But, we were early on Friday and they made the pizza for us. This only means we WILL be back Monday-Thursday. Cally , Zeke, Jess and Shana are remarkably good servers! All of the staff are down home great! I highly recommend this restaurant!
