Solid Americana menu. Elegant pub food with diverse menu with lots of vegetarian options! Casual attire is welcome and entrees are rasonably priced. I slid up to the bar and chatted with the bartender Dustin. (Photo attached) Great venue for a gals or guys night out. I went for happy hour but i'd recommend a reservation after 7pm! Top recommendations *1 Patio is a must (weather permitting) *Smash Burger (double wagyu patty) *kind staff Parking ramp was a little tricky to find but it was free and has ample space. Handicap accessible!

I saw this chicken sandwich on Yelp originally and realized this restaurant wasn't too far from our place. I got treated to a date night and was asked where to go and I was craving a chicken sandwich - so picked this spot. Let me tell you! This chicken sandwich is SO good! Our waitress told us that the spice is oil based and it does pack a punch. I am know. to like spice, but I am no hero. I wasn't scared about the heat index. It made me sweat behind the ears though! Not so hot where I couldn't finish the sandwich. That happened at Hattie B's when I went too hot. Enough about the amazing sandwich I've thought about for days. The service was great and the prices are adequate. They serve late, which in post COVID city life is getting more and more rare. We will be back!

My wife and I were out for a lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We tried a new restaurant and I ordered an IPA and the Cubano. I ordered a side Caesar salad as a sub and it was nice and fresh and our server was nice and their water was really good. I asked for the dressing on the side and it was mixed in. I guess I would take a half star off for that and our server was talking to other servers a lot and did not check on us for over ten minutes, while our beverages sat empty. The Cuban came out and it was delicious, There was a ton of pork and the bun was perfect and just everything was spot on. The flavor was spot on, it could have been the best Cuban I have had in 6 months. The place had lots of TVs and the bar looked to be large and ready for guests.

Great table service!We had the cod fish fry which was quite good compared to any other one we've tried in MN. Tons of fries come with.Also tried the Cubano. Very good, but was quite salty and the pickles were just... Fine.Overall very good, and we'll go back.

I'm glad I came here with someone who had been here before, otherwise I would have been so lost! It's tucked in an office building. The space is gorgeous! Books everywhere and cool framed prints. Overall food was good but service was really slow and that kind of ruined things. We were one table of maybe 3-4 others on a Saturday for brunch. I can't imagine what it would have been like if it was busy! It was nice we could order from the main menu and brunch menu. Everyone in our group seemed pleased with their food. I had the smash burger with greens. Burger was delicious! I didn't love the dressing on the greens, it was a bit bland. And the tomatoes were also pretty flavorless.

First time at Protagonist, had a mid-week business lunch. Food was really great, we both had salads which were super fresh and with a nice selection of ingredients. Who puts thick cut bacon in a chef salad! Service was friendly and prompt. Just a heads-up, my phone took me to the garage, and there are no signs to the restaurant from that south side. Just go into the building and you'll see it.
I really enjoyed my lunch there! It was quiet so very easy to visit the people I was with. Great variety on the menu.

First time here, had a hard time finding it. Got inside and no one was at the front and had to wait awhile for a staff member to greet us and seat us. Service was awful, I’m a server so I tend to be a bit more lenient than others. Would have understood if the place was packed but it wasn’t, only a handful of tables. My friend asked our server for a straw when she delivered our drinks, never saw her again until after our food came by that time I walked to the bar and get her a straw. Food was decent, Brussel sprouts were really good.
