Chairs are ripped, shelves are dusty. People are really nice, just to clean and get new chairs.

Still very old and in need of a refresh. With the demise of the other breakfast place at The Kahler this comes as a solid replacement. Food was really good and staff was super. I just did breakfast. Like most restaurants, the coffee could be improved.

Very nice experience. The food was well prepared and presented very pleasingly. we will return again when we are in town.

I had reservations there for a special occasion. We arrived on time, the place was packed. It was much smaller and cramped than online pictures. We waited for 15 minutes and no one so much as helped or even talked to us. A line formed behind us. Still no restaurant employee in sight. I looked at the menu while still waiting to be helped, and it was nothing like the online menu. It was mostly burgers , there was no lamb like online stated. That's when we left the small, cramped, musty entrance still without being helped.

I just had one of the best Ribeyes I've ever had. AND, it was only $25. A true jewel in Rochester.

I'm staying at the Kahler Hotel and ordered room service. The gal who answered the phone was very polite and accommodating. When the food was delivered it was the same person from the phone and we both shared a quick wonderful story. When I'm in town I'll make sure to ask for Gretchen as she's accommodating and goes above and beyond. Thank you for your service and kind story. Food was good as well.

The experience was fine for us, the server was attentive and the ambience interesting. The food was about average though, the short ribs was fine for me, but the veg well over done. The pork belly I expected to be more crisp too, which was a let down.

*DETAILED REVIEW*!!Please whoever is in charge of updating this do so! The menu is completely different than what they show on Google maps!!my boyfriend and I rarely go out for fine dining so as we were on a road trip through the area google maps showed us this location and we thought we would try it. After seeing the menu on Google maps we were super excited to try the steak and seafood. As this was what was advertised on the app. Unfortunately when we received the menu we were informed that the menu listed online was incorrect and they were instead offering a small menu with almost no seafood or steak options. Instead there was mostly a variety of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and a few entrées. We were a little bummed but still wanted to give it a try. We ordered the pork belly and spinach artichoke dip for appetizers. We were super happy with it! The spinach artichoke dip was definitely the highlight of the night. Bread was perfectly toasted, and the dip was phenomenal. Next we ordered entrées, my boyfriend ordered the ribeye and I ordered the slow short ribs. It looked amazing when we got it! But sadly my short ribs were very dry, the sauce and grits helped a bit but it wasn't exactly hard to stop eating it. The brocolini was well done, not alot of seasonings on it but it kind of balanced the grits out which were on the rich side. My boyfriends steak was decent, quite a bit of fat, but it was cooked the correct temp and was juicy. The mashed potatoes they came with had an unusual chemical like after taste though which was strange. We then ordered desert. I had the Pecan pie and my boyfriend had the pumpkin. They were both very enjoyable. Overall the only real issue I had was with my entrée as I don't think it was worth the price and most of the dish consisted of a large amount of grits. We had Steve as our server. They were very short staffed at the time but he tried his best given the situation. He was nice. And as for the environment, we got sat between a crabby old lady and a couple of obnoxious men. I was able to tune them out but they ruined the night a little bit. I loved the decor though! A very neat little place. I hope they add the steak house and seafood so we can come back and try again?.

The waiter is excellent. The food is not. I had French dip and meat was dry. The wild rice soup had paddy rice (cultivated with chemicals) not real wild rice. The cheesecake I took to my room was excellent.

It would not have been so bad had they told me they gave my food to someone else - which was a table near me, but a different waitress. That person had arrived after me - same order Eggs Benedict. He actually left and paid his bill and I was still waiting. So then the Waitress had the nerve to agrue with me after I pointed out the "mistake." Saying you need to pay, you can't leave - I still had no food. I threw the $20 on the table and will never go back. The waitress was so rude - I asked for a manager, told there was not one, This was at 9:30 am. I went to the hotel front desk, I was told their manager was busy. I was given the name of Obang Okello. I wrote a letter, never heard a word. They lost my business for life.

Even though there were no waitresses the night we were there, the bartender did a fabulous job making drinks for people and serving food! I don’t understand why there was no help. How was outstanding! Oh, the food is good too!

Had the salmon. Really overcooked and warm. Waitress hovered at our table and she wasn't even our waitress. Saw people leave because they could not be seated as everyone was in the kitchen laughing and talking. Would not recommend.
