I havent been to El Sombero in over 2 years as I dont live in Minnesota. I ordered the Veggie Fajita, expecting that the Veggies will be as described on the menu and on the web site, Zuchinni, Red and Green Bell Peppers, Onions, Broccoli, Cauliflower and Mushrooms. What was brought out to me was basically a plate of Zucchini with a little onion, barely and pepper (sliced very thin). I was hungry so I ate it. After the meal, when I was asked how the food was, I indicated my disappointment and had expected the veggies as described in the menu. The servers looked at me like I was from outer space. Kitchen manager came out, pretty much the same response. I said, bring me a piece of Flan to make it all good, he said OK, the flan never appeared. When I was here 2 years plus ago, the veggie fajitas were as described and delicious. Last night when I went there, I was extremely disappointed.

Good service but sadly this is just not authentic Mexican food. Flour tortillas, just dismal tasting horchata. Salsa from Tostitos. Chips were good at least. Beans were bad and rice was mediocre. Avoid.

First time visiting. Place was very nicely decorated and clean, including restrooms. Fresh rose in vase on each table spoke to the level of detail they go to create a nice ambiance. Staff was very attentive and service was wonderful. Very nice menu offered a big variety of moderately priced meals. Food we ordered came out fast and was hot and delicious. Everything was very fresh. The chips that we were greeted with were warm and crispy. Salsa was very mild. I would definitely recommend a visit to El Sombrero.

Met a friend for lunch and totally enjoyed the food and the decor! Service was quick and so polite!! Very authentic Mexican meals!! I grew up in Mexico in the Guadalajara area so I feel I’m a good judge of Mexican dishes with a slight touch of Americanizing!Will be back soon with other friends!!!

Really wanted to like this place, but the food was bland and greasy. Salsa tasted like tomato sauce. Service was not impressive. Very disappointed.

Service was good! Food was good at the time.. It wasn't until the morning everything unfolded. Having to go to the bathroom roughly 30 times in a day is unheard. I have a 100 degree temp and terrible stomach cramps . I've never had food poisoning before but I think that's what you would call it. Idk if there is a sanitary issue or what but this is awful. Won't be back .

Very neat and well kept, including bathrooms-from what I saw. Service is very welcoming, food is quite good, doesn't have a lotta spice ( but I'm guessing they cater to the neighborhood). My only gripe is the meat is a little sparse, but would easily come back.
Was a bit scared by some of the reviews, but my kids and I had a great experience. Great service and really good Mexican food. Caritas were very good.

No idea how to rate it...Google search showed it was open but when arrived, worker informed us it wasn't opening until the next day...another family had showed up as well...Hope this was just a temporary error for this business.
