We ate on the 2nd floor balcony tonight and everything was absolutely amazing! We were greeted the second we walked thru the doors, given advice on the best pace to sit, and our server, Thomas, was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. We ordered the wagyu steak and butternut risotto with blue crab cakes and Caesar salad to start. The food was perfect! The service was incredible, at the atmosphere was homey and romantic at the same time. 10/10 will recommend and we will be back!!

The food and service are outstanding. Cocktails are made with fresh ingredients, not flavored liquors. The patio offers great views of White Bear Lake.

This was our 1st visit to celebrate a wedding anniversary. My wife & were blown away by the menu selections, food was delicious & wait staff very attentive. This restaurant certainly deserves to be recognized. We plan to return!Wheelchair accessibility: If mobility is an issue, be sure to request a main floor seating. There are several steps to front entrance.

Went there for anniversary dinner and was extremely happy. We were worried it would be a high end restaurant with small portions, but I was completely stuffed when we left. The scallops were some of the best I have ever had, as was the roasted beet salad. 10/10, will be back. Our waitress and the entire staff was fantastic as well.

I really wanted to find a place in our neighborhood to be proud of and a place to be that "special" place to go to at any occasion to celebrate time away from the madness of WorkLife and homelife and escape through good food and service. We went without too many expectations aside from what we read online from other patrons, I never really listen to those comments because you never can tell if they are too prudish or naive to give a solid review of their dining experience . I am by no means mad or feel any responsibility to give a critique above anything else than I just felt like at these prices the food should match an elevated taste in some way that makes you feel like the price does not matter. I have felt better in my experience going to the Borough in Minneapolis or the Meritage in StPaul were there is an obvious benchmark for something more than just the ordinary. I could have went to the Lake Elmo inn or Gordy's to have an equal dining experience at half the cost and been just as satisfied. I really want to like Aqcua but just felt like the food definitely didn't match prices it commanded, I think at these prices you should have some credentials or rewards behind it to back it up, I also felt like the mandatory 20% gratuity may have took the "relationship" out of the experience and felt a little empty in terms of service. I am rooting for this establishment but I think that they are in a place were they don't have to try too hard to do what they do because they don't have to. Just wish they would do more to become something more than average for the money. Cabin 61 is an awesome example of getting great food for the price, they just need to figure out how to command the price for an elevated quality of food at Acqua. we spent 320.00 that night and while we knew we were happy to take that chance it just fell flat in our overall experience. Will def go back if they achieve an award or two to deserve those prices that others slave for years to earn.

Went last night with parents while I'm visiting for holidays, was recommended and did have a beautiful view of the lake. Dining option is a 3 course meal with plenty of varieties. Cool concept, unfortunately none of my three courses were that tasty. you win some you lose some. Calamari was mushy, undercooked, and had too much breading. Manchego apple salad was a joke, I was actually laughing. No diversity in texture. Just slaw. "Pistachio crusted" sea bass was essentially broiled fish with a sprinkle of nuts on it. Not impressive. My mother got panko crusted walleye as main and it was truly underwhelming, she didn't care to eat it. Not a huge deal. When server came to ask how food was, he saw my mom's plate and asked if everything was okay. My mom politely said she was expecting crispy crusted fish and she can't enjoy soft fish. Server said "oh I'm sorry," and took the plate. That was that. I thought that was odd, no alternatives or empathy. For 65 dollars, I can get an app and a main elsewhere I'll truly enjoy. I could have done way better at home. Too bad because the view was great! Retrain your servers, and step your chef game up!!
