I enjoyed The Colossal Cafe with four of my friends for brunch on a Wednesday. The cafe has a nice selection of food that isn't offered at other places. I had a Korean Beef Bowl. The bowl has more spice (for Minnesota) and I loved the big and kimchi. I only wish it had more kimchi and less rice. I also ordered the sourdough bread with blackberry-rhubarb jam--delicious!The waitress was able to split the check and was very good--she gave us just the right amount of attention. There is parking across the street slightly west of the restaurant. Thank you--we'll be back.Parking: Free parking lot across the street just west of the restaurant. Plenty of parking on Wednesday morning.

A very solid brunch experience. Make Yelp reservations if you plan on coming. They definitely should rethink the dining layout because there simply are not enough big tables to accommodate parties of more than two.Eggs need to improve and the menu could use some expansion, but the brie/apple/walnut pancakes are always divine. Boyfriend is a big fan of the biscuits and gravy. Come for the pumpkin pancake and maple latte in the fall. I'm always craving those and can't wait for them to return!! Prices are a little too big of an ask to make this a regular choice.

Stopped here for brunch on a whim-- vibes were on point from the start. It was a little busy when we first arrived (only seating at the counter available) but it didn't seem like anyone waited very long to be seated despite this. Totally going to come back at some point. Also the waitress helping us was super cute and had awesome tattoos. My partner got the Cubano and a hot chocolate: sandwich was phenomenal and the house marshmallow was super good.I got the apple walnut brie flappers (pictured) and a hot chai latte: pancakes were dense and cooked perfectly. I loved the brown-sugar syrup and although brie is not something I usually associate with pancakes, it was awfully tasty. The chai could have been sweeter but flavor was good.I also tried the curried lentil soup, which was awesome. It had really good texture and robust flavor.

Creative menu, friendly staff, and amazing food. I've been here a few times and from the moment I sit down to the bill in hand, I haven't been disappointed.

Some of the worst customer service by management I’ve experienced in a while. My waitress was great and gracious when I told her the pancake was gummy and did not seem to be cooked entirely. She immediately took it back to the kitchen, but the other server who came out was not as gracious at all. She informed me They made their flappers with a yeast and they would not be fluffy. She asked if I wanted something else and I eventually found out that they would be charging me for the two bites I took if I sent it back to the kitchen, so I did an exchanged for a chocolate croissant and blueberry muffin. The croissant was extraordinary and although nothing like a croissant, I would highly recommend it and go back, but perhaps with takeout, to avoid another a bad dining experience. I had ordered the strawberries on the menu that were listed at $2.25, but they brought me what I was told was a full serving of strawberries for $3.50, although it was a very small bowl about the size of something used for extra butter. As I was trying to get that corrected on the bill, the same dismissive server came and explained how they had served me the large portion. I explained how I had pointed to the $2.25 on the menu and said that that was what I wanted and she kept saying that is not what they served me, so I would have to pay more, which made no sense. Then she looked to ask if What I said was true. The waitress, of course, said nothing, because she looked like she did not want to get in trouble. Then what must’ve been a manager came over and I explained it all. She kept going back to the exchange of the pancake for The pastries, and I kept saying that that was fine, I was talking about the strawberries. I had to reiterate it at least three times and she got more aggressive and then finally gave me this look and said she would just take the whole thing off, which I said was fine. All of it was unnecessary and completely ruined what was an amazing experience with the croissant. It was very unfortunate. I have had takeout from there in the last years and the gravy, especially has been exquisite, but I guess it’s best to stick to delivery with no in person expectation of respectful service.

Coming from a pancake enthusiast I would not recommend the pancakes. Hands down the worst pancakes I’ve ever had. Hash browns however were delicious!

Had to come to try the highly rated biscuits and they did not disappoint! Had the matcha latte, peppermint white mocha, maple latte, cinnamon roll, almond croissant, two macaroons, egg and cheddar biscuits. All was amazing! Best cinnamon roll we’ve ever had. Highly recommend making a reservation before

I had their flappers(pancakes). They were quite dense and not fluffy at all. The service and the atmosphere was nice, but don’t order their pancakes. You will be disappointed. I also ordered a cup of americano and it was quite bland. Hot water with a hint of coffee shot.
