I ordered 2 rolls, the leipold roll & the Aspen roll & the vegetable tempura meal. It exceeded my all my expectations! My friend ordered the chicken katsu, his 1st time trying Japanese & he loved everything he tried!

I worked in Japan for a while so I know what Japanese food should be…. We ordered tempura udon-the broth was black from the soy sauce, and it’s not supposed be that black, the spicy lobster roll that we paid 19 dollars, where was the lobster? The tuna dish topped with grounded mountain yam on top, I could not eat…and there was a big chunk of wasabi hidden inside of the dish, and had I not spotted that, I could be in a big pain…..Broiled mackerel was too fish…. The only thing was that there were two older Japanese ladies who were very attentive and polite… over all it was very disappointing to say the least, as I expected ‘Japanese’ food. Needless to say, we won’t be going back. Terrible food , but good service. My daughter was born here, and I always told her how good the Japanese food is, and how they do everything good in Japan….. after eating here, I could not possibly tell her that It was terrible as I was too embarrassed to tell her the truth…..

Best sushi in the twin cities!!! I love this place, friendly staff, great sushi, open restaurant atmosphere. Try the California Roll and some gyoza. Its fun chatting with the owner when I eat there. Can't wait to visit again.

Food was okay. Calamari was good but over cooked. Chicken Katzu was kind of flavorless. My drink was good.

I'm visiting a friend here in St. Paul and we decided to get sushi before the Pitbull trilogy concert and we walked over to Sakura. First off the vibe and decor was great, immediately sat and the staff was very attentive. I order gyozas and a shogun bento box. They were fantastic! I was so happy with the quality of the sashimi and the teriyaki beef was sweet and tender. Best bang for the buck! Anytime I come back here I'd wanna eat here again!

Great Japanese food, love the clam miso soup and the sashimi tesihoku. Jessie was very helpful and ambiance is great! Will be back here when I'm I'm back in St. Paul!

Overpriced menu. The bill automatically included the food fee, card fee, and a gratuity (calculated after tax). We waited over an hour for our food. The server didn’t bring us enough water and utensils, and forgot to check if the day’s specials were still available. The bento box was mediocre, but the fish and rice dish was terrible. The fish wasn’t fresh, and the rice was too sticky

The food is mediocre, not bad but won’t blow your mind. Rolls are hit or miss but bento box was tasty.

I'm a sushi noob and I don't know anything about it. However - that damned "spicy salmon avocado cut roll" they serve there is one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. Stupidly delicious.I've eaten some of their other stuff and it tasted good, but I'm not adventurous. Their tuna was delicious, salmon also, but really nothing I had was as good (for my palate) as that silly spicy salmon avocado cut roll. But you know what? Do you wanna go someplace where everything is good (which is here also) or do you want to eat one thing that is so good it's worth the trip?Due to covid I wasn't here in a few years. Mistake. Goto damn Sakura and order the SSAC roll. If you don't like it, I don't know what to tell you. Don't order hand roll, just cut roll. Goto Sakura.
