Great service and very good food. Nice location on Grand Avenue with outdoor seating available in the summer. Fresh and bright Mediterranean flavors. Got the gyro platter which was really good and the yellow rice was amazing. but while I was dining I saw the waitress go by with a falafel burger. Now I got to go back

It was okay. Lamb kabobs were tasty, but a bit dry.

I want to give Shish 5 stars so badly. I do love it. I just wish they gave me more chicken for the price I have to pay for it. Whenever I get it to-go, I swear I'm given less food. The Turkish coffee is fun if you've never tried it before. I would like less parsley/cilantro(?) in the tabbouleh--it ruins it for people like me who think it tastes like dish soap. Fun weekday lunch choice if you're a Mac student and can portion it off for leftovers. The omelets are also incredible!! Love the goat cheese one:)

The falafel is fantastic. The hummus is perfect and the fresh veggies on top make it feel like a complete appetizer. The falafel as a burger however is simply not edible as the burger completely fell apart after the very first bite. I would definitely recommend sticking to a wrap or a pita.

Really enjoy shish as a good local spot with so many vegetarian options! Lovely service for the most part, short wait time for food, and every dish I've had so far excellent!Vegetarian options: Plenty! One of the better St. Paul spots for vegetarian options without it just being exclusively vegetarian.

I was never served my food, and they refused to refund my money. Shish ripped me off.About 8 weeks ago I ordered a Mediterranean chicken sandwich, a large latte, a hibiscus tea, and I tipped 20%. It took 15 minutes to get my drinks. I started reading my book, and when I looked at my watch 35 minutes had passed and no food.I went to the counter, to the guy doing silverware not Willis who took my order, and told him I haven't received my food yet. It went something like this:Excuse me, I haven't received my food yet.Yeah?I have to be somewhere. Can you just give me my money back? No.What do you mean, no? I never got my food. It's been 40 minutes now.No, I can't do that. What do you mean? Why not? Just refund it to my card.I need a manager here to do that. I can't do that, I need a manager's ok to do that.Just take $30 out of the till then.No way.Ok. I would like to speak to the manager.Oh, there's no manager here today. (Saturday)Can you call the manager? No way can I call. Will a manager be here tomorrow?Nope, there is never a manager here on Sunday. How about Monday?Probably not.Any day next week?I don't know. Hardly ever here. It's my fault, I messed up your order.Stunned silence. Snarky, big grin, he says:Oh! I'll go to the kitchen and see if they've made it yet! Maybe it's ready! You can just get it to go if it's ready!I declined. I was so insulted. You can leave your information and I can leave it for the manager when they come in.I was angry, I had to get out of there, so I just left.I called later and left my information, to a girl. Nothing for a week, so I called back and gave the info again. Nothing for a few weeks. So I did it again.I give up. They ripped me off.I went to Shish the first time last July 2022. Had a burger, it was so good. I talked to the owner and he told me about the beef, it's high quality.I took note of the servers. Two brown haired guys, Willis and a young blonde guy, and a girl. An older latino guy came out from the back a few times.

One thing they could do better, is to come back and check to see if everything is ok.

I started loving Shish when I worked there over ten years ago. I have been a consistent customer ever since, food is always fantastic. The restaurant looks great, beautiful light fixtures. Unique place, get the spinach pies(trust me).

Mistakes due happen but it's how you correct the mistake and make a lasting impression. We placed an online order for 3 people to-go, and the main platter was left out of the bag. We called and they offered to refund or we could come pick it up. We requested they drive the meal to our office as it was their mistake. They refused. Now our coworker doesn't have their lunch. The veggies in the Kabob orders were lightly blanched and crunchy. Salad was tiny. Steak Kabob chunks were good and tender. Carrot cake delicious but way overpriced. Should've ordered from Spicy Feta.

I visited Shish on Tuesday, March 12, expecting a pleasant Mediterranean dining experience but was left deeply disappointed. Firstly, the food served did not align with my expectations of Mediterranean cuisine, both in appearance and taste. The authenticity and flavor I was looking forward to were sorely missing. Moreover, the service left much to be desired. I was dining with a friend, and our meals were not synchronized. My dish arrived first, forcing me to eat while my friend sat waiting for his meal, which detracted from the dining experience we hoped to share. The quality of the food raised concerns as well. The ingredients did not seem fresh, and unfortunately, I couldn't bring myself to finish my meal. Regrettably, this experience took a severe turn for the worse, as I ended up in the EMERGENCY ROOM with food poisoning a few hours later. It was the only meal I had that day, so there's little doubt about the source of my illness. My friend also felt sick, albeit to a lesser degree. This visit was not only disappointing in terms of culinary authenticity and service but also concerning due to the severe health implications that followed. Furthermore, I was taken aback by the pricing, which was double what one might expect at authentic Mediterranean restaurants .

I don’t normally write bad reviews but this one is well deserved. Where to start?- The prices on the menu are deliberately cheaper than what they actually charge you. This has been brought to the staff’s attention multiple times, but management obviously wants to keep it this way. This is not only morally dishonest but also illegal.- Food is hit or miss. Meat dishes are pretty good but everything else is average. Slightly overpriced but not awful food.- Their ‘award winning’, ‘home made’ cakes are actually just factory frozen. They they charge you $14 for a paper thin slice. Again, dishonest.- Every time I go they seem to be understaffed. Not blaming the staff for this obv.
