The service and ambiance was above average. The food is marginal at best. The porchetta was over salted, the chickens that came with the pasta (as recommendation of the waitress) was extremely dry.The spinach and artichoke dip was fantastic, the lone highlight food-wiseWe sat across from a table who's waitress didn't come back to their table for nearly 35min after ordering drinks and the restaurant was 80% full. Just not a good look. To the restaurants credit, they comped the appropriate dishes.

Gorgeous venue, courteous and professional staff, and a fantastic menu for both food and drink. Definitely one of the best options in Saint Paul.

Good food, good service, and good atmosphere! That sums it up!!!We tried the stake, and it was great. The sauce on the stake was delicious. The scallops were good. Liked the appetizer as well.

WA Frost has a very special place in my heart! The food, service and ambiance is nothing short of impeccable. You really feel like you’re a part of history being in there! Best restaurant in the Twin Cities!

I had planned a beautiful night out at a fine dining establishment, expecting a wonderful experience. I called ahead to confirm that reservations were not required, as it was a slow Thursday evening on 3/21. We dressed up for the occasion, and I dropped my date off at the door. However, she was informed that there were no available tables, despite several being visibly empty when I entered. Looking for my date I then was told that the dining area was closing early due to how slow it was, but we could sit in the bar area instead (different story then what she was told). This was not what I had hoped for, but I didn't want to cause a scene and spoil the evening.I found my date sitting at an unstable, rickety table, which was not the kind of experience I had envisioned at this establishment. Despite my initial impressions, we decided to order. Unfortunately, the Wagyu burger I ordered was chewy, resembling a rubber puck that had been frozen meat. My date's short rib seemed to have been pre-cooked and reheated with added water, lacking the freshness we expected.Had to ask for our drinks three times and the bartender was flat out rude. The restaurant wasn’t even full so apparently we weren’t a priority. With a bill exceeding $200, I can confidently say that the service was poor and the food quality was even worse. It's disappointing, as I had been looking forward to treating my date to an award-winning dining experience that had been advertised.

Just not what it used to be! New chairs would not hurt and for real a refresh on the decor ?? food quality varies with the staff.... Would probably come back in the summer for a glass of wine on the patio but not in any hurry...

YOUR SERVER, JADELYN, COULD USE AN ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT & WORK ON HER SITUATIONAL AWARENESS.WE VISITED WITH RESERVATIONS ON 3/2. SAT. SAT. SAT. IN THE LITTLE SH*T CORNER.NO ONE GREETED US. NO ONE GAVE US WATER. LITTLE J WALKED PAST US MULTIPLE TIMES W/ NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. OVER 20 MINUTES INTO OUR RES AT 1912 HOURS, MISS THANG FINALLY APPROACHED W/ NO APOLOGIES AS TO WHY IT TOOK HER SO LONG TO GREET US & TOOK AN ORDER FOR ONE BOMBAY SAPHIRE-YOU REMEMBER J.SAID DRINK TOOK A HOT MINUTE TO GET TO US.I WAS ALREADY OUT OUT THE DOOR, BUT MY HUSBAND, BLESS HIS SOUL, TRIED TO BE NICE TO HER & GIVE HER A CHANCE-THAT IS, TIL SHE TOOK ANOTHER HOT MINUTE TO RETURN TO TAKE OUR ORDERS.PRIOR TO THIS INTERACTION (OR LACK THEREOF) JADELYN ALREADY WALKED AROUND WITH SOME MAD RBF & EXUDED AN ATTITUDE THAT LET THE DINING ROOM KNOW SHE WAS NOT HAVING IT THAT EVENING FOR WHATEVER REASON.YES. WE PAID CASH. GAVE HER $15 ON A $14.12 TAB.IF I HAD EXACT CHANGE, I'D HAVE GIVEN EXACT CHANGE.COURSE ON OUR WAY OUT SHE MADE IT CLEAR SHE WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THAT, RIGHTFULLY SO, BUT TO RECEIVE GOOD REVIEWS & GOOD TREATMENT, YOU NEED TO PRODUCE GOOD SERVICE & ATTITUDE.

We had not visited for a few years because the last time we went, food was just meh. We were pleasantly surprised that the quality was back to what we had remembered. Lovely pumpkin bisque and a sparkling wine flight (a bargain at $17 for a glass and a half equivalent) started us off. I had the short rib on buttery grits, and my partner had the steak special....pricey but the best steak we had ever had...a terrific Wagyu flatiron. Perfect temperature, finishing salt, etc. Just perfect in every way. We split the pavlova for dessert. Service was refined but warm, and the glow from the fireplace and soft jazz made for a nice evening.

WA Frost is easily our favorite place for a date night or gathering of friends. The service is everything you would expect from a fine dining restaurant--friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. We also appreciate the ambiance --the feeling of history-- the architecture, original artworks, plants, multiple fireplaces, and the amazing patio gardens in the summer all come together to create a unique environment. None of this would matter if the food was not exceptional, and it is. The chef always has something on the menu that I can't wait to try. The addition of a market steak option has been deliciously decadent every time! They also have an incredible wine cellar and extensive bar options--ask to see the wine cellar or scotch/bourbon menu!

The service was great. The food was great. The atmosphere was great. The hospitality fee that doesn't go to the server is not. Pay them more or raise your prices. Forcing customers to leave two "tips" for something that you should be doing as an owner is shady.
