This place never fails to make me feel on top of the world. I love sitting at the bar--the bartender is soooo nice and will make you a delicious custom cocktail for your specific tastes if you ask her! She's very busy though, I don't know how she does it all.Anyway, the place is beautiful. The chicken teriyaki is so simple yet so delicious. All the shrimp sushi rolls are incredible. I wish there were more non-spicy options as someone who hates when spice covers up flavor in sushi (I like heat! I don't like not being able to taste every aspect of the roll).

Food was pretty good, atmosphere reminded me of sushi tango during its prime and the drinks were great. I think one of the great highlights of our night was our server Chinh. He has provided us excellent service and made us feel welcomed. He even assisted us to take photos. 100% will be my goto spot for friend hangouts and dinners.Also that truffle roll was pretty good.P.S. parking is validated when you eat there just give them your parking ticket.

Went here for our dads 54th birthday. The whole family was in town and we got a reservation set. When we came in the host was kind and friendly and got our seat right away. The classic rolls were on point, apps tasted great, and the unique specialty rolls were amazing.The main difference between this and any other sushi restaurant I’ve been to in Minneapolis is the service though. Our server, Chinh, went above and beyond to make sure our dad felt special on his birthday. He interacted with us and made us feel like family, explained all the different rolls we ordered, and ensured our drinks/water were always full.I would come back here again to try out the different rolls but also to come back for the friendly MN Nice service. Would recommend to my friends and anyone else in the future.

Food was always good.Been here 3 times.Once with spouse.Once as a couple date.Once as a girls night out.Waiter was amazing. Can't remember his name.Clean and beautiful atmosphere.If you know good sushi, then come here.Sashimi are big slices and fresh (at least everytime I've ordered them).Will be coming back ♡Parking: Huge parking by restaurant. But bring your ticket inside for them to make it free.

The food here was pretty damn tasty, there's no denying that. The service though.... When my girlfriend and I showed up, we got in line behind two people waiting for a host, to get our table for our reservation. A couple that came in after us was acknowledged before us. That was first. They got taken care of, then I approached the desk to check in, they said just a minute for a table. Right after that, another couple comes in and is seated immediately. Ummm. Not cool.We get seated, get our drinks which were great. Order our food. The apps come out and shortly after my girlfriends noodle entree comes out, I'm told that the sushi rolls should be just a while longer. Wait about 15ish minutes, asked where they were with the order, was told just a while longer. Another 10 minutes pass, told they were still working on them. My girlfriend has finished most of her meal, we order another round of drinks which took a while. Ask about the sushi, told they're busy, which I understand, but it's getting ridiculous. During all this, I've seen at least 3 other tables near us get seated, order, and get their sushi before me. It finally arrived, and yes was good. Was it an additional 45 minutes plus wait good? No. This was beyond unacceptable.

We went to Yumi on a Saturday night around 5:30-6. We didn’t have a reservation so we had to sit at the bar. The restaurant wasn’t overly busy and we were the only people sitting at the bar, but there was still an old check on the table, sake glasses and old water glasses from previous patrons that hadn’t been cleared. The bartender was beyond slow. It took 10 minutes or so for her to bring us water, then another 10 or 15 minutes to take our drink order. From there another 15 minutes for her to take our food order. At this point we were the only people sitting at the bar when she put our order in. About 25Minutes later the bar was full, and people who had arrived after us started receiving the appetizers they ordered. Meanwhile, we were able to order a second round of drinks, still no food. I had gotten one of their signature cocktails off their menu. The first one was honestly good. The second was both watered down and too strong at the same time? Bizarre. Finally around 35 minutes after putting our order in and watching other people receive their food, we called it quits. Luckily the bartender comped our two cocktails but the service was horrible.

We’ve been to Yumi several times since they opened in our neighborhood and have always enjoyed it. This last trip, however, was altogether different. We ordered two Honeymoon sushi rolls (which are priced at nearly $30 per roll) and a few other dishes. There was almost no seafood inside the sushi rolls, the filling was mostly rice, and we were shorted one roll. The wasabi was also tasteless, abnormally thick, and a very dark artificial green color. After contacting the restaurant to explain what happened they never bothered to respond. We spent over $100 for two meals in total and felt very short changed. I’m not sure if we’ll be back.

Some of the best sushi and sashimi I've had. The black widow special...wow...I would have easily eaten three of those and not been upset. Also the sneak peak at a new menu item was a fun treat. Our server was cheerful, stopped to chat for bit, and was knowledgeable about both the menu items and sake.

The service we received from the hostess who seated us was exceptional. Our server, Vas, provided superb service throughout our meal. He was engaging, fun, and had extensive knowledge about drinks. Despite our large group of 10, he made sure to address all of our questions and provided excellent recommendations. We were thoroughly impressed and will definitely be returning soon. The food was fantastic, but the service was even better.
