A nice cozy place

Decent bar food with busy local flair. Visited on a Gustavus Basketball night and the place was packed, which affected the service.Vegetarian options: You can substitute a portobello mushroom for a beef burger, which I found to be a great option.

02/27 UpdateDrove from Mankato to have a drink at Patrick's after midnight and the door was locked. Called on the phone and watched the bartender ignore the phone call. He saw me at the window after and gave me the cut off sign and I replied with the pointer finger that you close at 1. Businesses have no standards anymore.***********I work late, hard to find a bar to get a beer after. The only bar in a 50 mile radius that says they are open till 1 AM and actually stays open till 1 AM! hours painted on the door. In-house fresh-made pizza, drinks were $5. Thank you!

Garbage. Empty, unfriendly, 0 service. Eventually just walked out when it was clear customers were not welcome there.

After the 2024 Polar Plunge, this place was recommended to us. When we arrived it didn’t look overly busy, plenty of empty areas. It took a few minutes to receive water and 1 lemonade for a table of 5…and that’s all we received for over an hour! We begged to order and 2 wait staff became short with us for even asking. We were offered more water and one root beer, but they couldn’t even give us an update on our order other than “there was a mixup”. After 90 minutes, our order arrived, very small portions, forgotten items and no follow up. When I asked for our bill, our wait staff stood over me barking a total and would it be cash or card. Seriously?! I requested a bill WITH a missed item correction and she argued with me about how much the discount was. I had a card machine shoved in my face and I was furious.Let me say this: a tip is a reflection of the service provided and there was little to NO service…not from kitchen or wait staff. I was scoffed at and never felt so unwelcome in a small town pub in my life. GO ELSEWHERE!

Patrick's has been a favorite of mine in town for a long time but it appears they are making changes and they are not for the better. Stopped in for a late lunch, it was our second choice as the first place was really busy. Patrick's was a ghost town inside with the exception of the people sitting at the bar. There was not a single other person in the dining room we were in. I will admit it was a slower time of day but again, the place a couple blocks down was very busy. Looking at the menu, they discontinued my favorite sandwich so, I decided to try the Gustie burger which is a pretty standard cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato. After "upgrading" to fries from what looked like regular Lays potato chips the meal was about $16 which I don't mind paying for a really good burger but this was pretty middle of the road. Not bad but nothing to get excited about. Again, it's a pretty standard burger, the lettuce looked more like dandelion leaves than anything, the patty had decent flavor. Portions were of average size, not a lot of fries for the $2 up charge. I don't want to be totally negative as I have really liked this place for years but, it does appear the place is struggling. Raising prices, shrinking portions, and reducing menu selection doesn't seem good for business. Food was prepared ok, service was fine, did you change management? Please change it back.

Used to be a favorite. But they have gutted their menu and my favs were not available. The service was very slow, not the server's fault. They need to pay for more servers. Get in the game. There are restaurants in St Pete where the parking lots are full. And another one coming into town. I know competition is tough, but Patrick may not be in business long if they don't get businesslike! Also, update your new menu onto this site.
