I was looking for somewhere a bit more elevated for our Anniversary dinner. And I was honestly dissapointed. We had a reservation for 5:30 on a Friday night and our table was not ready which is understandble on a busy weekend and they said they said they would give a us a call when the table was ready. 20 min later we finally walked back to ask the status and finally sat us...We sat in the middle of the resturant and the chairs were super low and uncomfortable.Our server was "training" and it was honestly a strange and scripted situation and it ruined the experience for us.And to top it off the food was not great. The short rib was tasty but we had a very fatty peice. The brussel sprouts seemed to be drenched in butter.Overall it was a very lack luster experience.

Matchstick has become my "go-to" place whenever friends or family come to visit (or if I just want an amazing meal). Their menu is truly impressive. It has become hard to choose a favorite dish because I have truly enjoyed everything I have tried so far. The service is really out of this world awesome. Their menu has something for everyone so you really can't go wrong if you are trying to impress someone and make them happy. Matchstick is really special!!!

So frustrated and disappointed. We waited for over 90 minutes with 0 communication. We called days in advance and were told they don’t take reservations under 8, but several small parties arounds us said they had them. Ruined what was support be a special night. We have enjoyed it in the past but will not be back. Customers that are waiting are still customers and should be treated better. After 90 minutes we were told it could be another 45-60. We watched several small parties be seated ahead of us, that came in after us. We left starving - ruined our night.

Stopped here for a drink and dessert before going up to attached hotel (which I also recommend) the dessert was so massive! Had to share as it was gooey goodness and could feed a crowd! Banana monkey

Not at all my type of menu, but we met folks to celebrate a birthday. Kaylie, our server, and Eric, the GM, went above and beyond to accommodate us. Of the six diners, half raved about the food, half did not. I, the pickiest eater, was very pleased! I can’t eat butter, and I’m one of the rare Minnesotans who hates—HATES—bacon, BBQ, maple syrup, and just about anything smoked, or sweet and hot stuff slathered all over a good cut of meat. And that is their menu. Kaylie made suggestions, and she nailed it—I had the scallops. They were perfect. We shared the pave potatoes (yay!), wood fired carrots with ricotta (triple yay!), and the mushrooms/acorn squash (meh). Good bourbons, good wine list, nice setting. They offer valet parking.
We are staying at Hotel Crosby and ate at Matchstick last night. We couldn’t be more impressed! The server was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, the cocktails (Old Fashioned, Espresso Martini) were divine, and the food (get the carrot dish, you won’t regret it ?) was incredible. From start to finish probably the best meal I’ve ever had. 5 stars, all around!

Matchstick has moved to the bottom of our list, we used to love coming here. Good variety of booze to choose from. Liked the farm to table aspects. However, we now feel they really lack a robust signature cocktail list and find their food to be just disgusting and oil/butter soaked. And definitely not worth the price.
