For the price, just doesn't hold up to the quality you're after for a $50 Ribeye. Too thin a cut to begin with, maybe that's why a medium rare order is served medium well. Service is pleasant enough and the ambiance is fine, even if they didn't bother to have the fireplace going on a Sat night in Winter. Was excited to try out this place but there are far better places for a couple to drop a $200 bill for dinner.

Total supper club atmosphere. The staff are absolutely amazing, that's what makes the experience so special. The food is good. Not great. We had prime rib, it was chewy and not cooked to order. But they fixed it well enough. Still worth a visit.

Absolutely love this place!! The food is amazing! Top shelf margarita is oh so savory! The crème brûlée is to die for! I’ve never had a better filet mignon! The salmon is spectacular! I love that they don’t make a big fuss over birthdays but they do give you a free spumoni ice cream. We will definitely be back.

I had never heard of this place before, but it's so good. Wife and I were meeting some family there and went early to grab a drink. Ended up meeting a couple of regulars and chatted with them for awhile. Bar tender(s) were friendly and joking with them and with us. Owners were involved and working the floor and back in the kitchen so you know they have a direct hand and can see things going on first hand.Overall the atmosphere was great, and what I expect from a steakhouse. It was a little dark and could stand to be a touch brighter (reading the menus etc...) and honestly, my only complaint was that it was really warm in there. Overly warm at least on this occasion. It was Feb. 2nd, and I'm glad I wore a short sleeved shirt under my jacket. The filet mignon was one of the best tasting I've ever had. We were at Porterhouse a few weeks prior in Little Canada, and this place was better. That said, my sister-in-law ordered the same cut of meat and hers was a little overcooked for her liking. Mine (at medium) was perfect. Super tender.I'd definitely would like to come back again some day for a special occasion.Parking: We didn't have trouble finding parking, but my brother who came later took about 15m to find a spot.
My partner and I have been to Gordys a few times and have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Wait staff are friendly and engaging.

Arguably one of the best Steakhouses in the Twin Cities. The ambiance has that warm, dark, supper-club ambiance that only a historic establishment can offer. Drinks are generous, food is great, and service is alway impeccable. While we don’t get here as much as we’d like, it’s almost alway our go-to restaurant for date night without the children. It holds a very special place in historic downtown Willernie /Mahtomedi.
