This was the first time we ordered from Valerie`s.....NEVER again!!! We order chicken chow mein. What we got, a container with vegetables and chicken, no sauce no gravy, nothing. And the cream cheese wontons had gravy to dip them in instead of a sweet and sour sauce. Horrible.

Love the traditional Asian, Thai, Chinese food. Made from fresh vegetables and worth the wait. Kung Pao chicken and Spicy Chicken Noodle Soup (curry) are two of our favorites.

My husband and I live in Mahtomedi. We decided to try this place. Outside of the building was absolutely filled with overgrown weeds and trash. We decided to still go in. Half of the “restaurant “ is a pile of stuff that belongs in a garage. But where this really takes a turn, is with child labor laws. Our waitress was maybe 10!? She was a sweet little girl but why is she working??? Also, there were 2 other little girls laying on the floor behind the cash register area. One kept coughing the entire time we were in there. The other one was pouring cough syrup into the cap for her. Our 10 yo waitress also rung us up. The tables were dirty, one booth had children’s toys in it, and there were plants everywhere trying camouflage the messy hoarding of piles of items that should not be laying around a restaurant (OSHA). The food was just ok. Lots of oil. It was hard to be there and get past what we were seeing. I would not go back and have thought about making a police report for those kids.

I don't understand why this place is never busy when we visit because the food is SO GOOD.Highly recommend the pad thai and fried rice. The parking lot could stand a cleaning as well as the inside, but the food and service are top notch.

Very good food. If you're looking to have traditional Americanized "Chinese" food you might be disappointed because this is fresh entrees made by a wonderful woman from Thailand and her family. Chicken pad Thai was the star of our meal nice flavor with fresh bok Choi, carrots and sprouts. Forgot to photograph the full entrees which had quite a bit on the plate. Our dinner was a very pleasant experience.

The absolute worst food ever! Everything is soggy and gross, no sweet and sour sauce for cream cheese wonton, who serves them without sauce, if you pay and ask for extra chicken or beef you will never get. Third time and last, literally three pieces of beef when ordered extra beef, all veggies and barely that! BEWARE ANYONE WHO EATS HERE!!!!

Not good at all. I live locally and have tried to give this place a chance disappointment after disappointment. It’s garbage. Gross. Not good at all. Do not eat here unless you want to eat something you’re not expecting or wanting. The orange chicken was I’m hoping deep fried potato’s this last time but I’m not sure.So bad.The worst cream cheese wontons ever. It was fried cream cheese soup. It’s a family living in a business space and cooking what they have available it seems.Sorry not sorry.

Take out packages are terrible. They leak all over the bag. My last three orders have done this. Please get better take out packages. The food is good though. Thank you!

Pho of flavor! When it kinda looks like an Asian families living room in the restaurant you know they will have great pho. And their pho had great flavor and highly suggest you try it and pronounce it right: fahBut I do have lots of critical comments. 5 stars is for great tasting food, the overall restaurant def could be improved.First I was given a fork and western spoon. No, let your customer admit they need a fork, not the other way around…No herb salad? Pho was even on menu they called it beef noddle soup (claimed people don’t know what pho is, I say educate them then!)((if you didn’t know pho is better than pizza!)Beta fish was in olive jar with label still on it? Come on man! Put aquariums in your home not your counter… or make them clean and spectacular. And overall the restaurant could be emptied of personal items and cleaned. My mom and uncle who I am in town visiting will not join me at this place till it looks clean in and out. (I love a dingy pho shop, but most people won’t)(sorry I called it dingy but the betta in an olive jar is a prime example) people spend more $$$ in clean empty places…I want this place to remain cause I loved their pho. But I would highlight Vietnamese pho rather than hide it as beef noodle soup… educate and make people feel adventurous trying it! Nothing is more addicting than pho but beef noodle soup sounds like cambells canned soup.Again great pho! But don’t hide it, promote it! You have Pho on your awning that’s why I walked it, but the menu had it called a soup? Teach people about pho, hook new people to this amazing dish! I just tried it for first time a year ago, now I scout every metro area I go to for the best pho I can find!Pho broth A+Pho noodles b (slightly soggy)Pho contents a- (I want tripe and the works)Pho add in’s c+ (herb salad missing)Pho utensils F (who uses a fork?)I will be back hope they aren’t upset at my critical feed back cause they are closest pho spot to my moms house when I’m in town!

I came into the restaurant to order food for takeout. I ordered shrimp fried rice, shrimp lomein, and vegetarian egg rolls. I ordered the rice and lomein spicy. While I was waiting the owner commented on how all the food was made fresh. I told her I don't eat out much. When I got home, I was ready to eat some good food. I have to say this, "this was the most disgusting food I have every ordered at any restaurant! The food was cold, both dishes had no smell at all and no spicy taste, it was bland with no taste at all!!! Both dishes were brown with very limp vegetables. The only thing that was fresh was the eggrolls. They have to be deep fried right then otherwise they will not be crisp; they would be soggy! I paid $30.00 plus a tip. I have never posted any reviews online, but I knew I had to do this review because what was done was so blatant! I called Valerie and told her what my food was like. I ask if I could exchange the food for an order of eggrolls. She agreed to one order of eggrolls for the food. I brought the food with me so she could see and smell for herself. I had her smell it and ask what she thought. She told me with a sheepish look on her face that everyone likes it that way. I asked her to taste it, but she wouldn't. I told her she put absolutely no spice in at all. Some restaurants were creative during the pandemic making their restaurants into stores and other creative things; some did not. I noticed on another post, that a woman said her food was bland and she found a hair in it. I think she gives old food to unsuspecting customers. Shame on you for giving me that disgusting food. You deserve this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have lived in Mahtomedi for almost a year now and tonight was the first time I ordered take out. Why didn’t I eat here sooner?! The sesame chicken was so good. Some of the best egg rolls I’ve ever tasted. I look forward to trying out other items on the menu in the very near future!
