I had a sourdough burger(rare) with fries here with my aunt. Everything about the meal was perfect. The burger was exactly how I wanted it and tasted great. The fries were fresh and crispy and the service was great. Will be visiting here again.

Best burger in St. Louis!!! I used to live less than a mile from Smitty's, I'm now 35 minutes away and still make an effort to make it back as often as possible. Don and his team are amazing, the food and drinks are always top notch!!

I was part of a group of four who made our first visit to Smitty's for lunch. Two people had the fried chicken with a double order of mashed potatoes. Both said the same thing - the chicken was excellent but the mash potatoes were awful. They were certain they were instant potatoes. Another had the cod sandwich (very good) and onion rings (average). The last order was a Cobb salad which was also very good. We got prompt and courteous service. We may be back to try other items.

I am giving this place 1 star because the bartender was so sweet and attentive but the food was horrible. We got a sourdough burger (medium) which was saw dust and a brisket sandwich which was so dry and gross (3 fatty slices). And I guess I was the winner I got the heel of the rock hard bread turned inside out in my sandwich. And guess they thgt I wouldn't know any better but for $15 come on do better. And I won't even mention the $5 domestic beers. This place is waaaay over priced for what we received. Will never go back and tell everyone I know no to bother.

We recently tried Smittys on a Friday for their catfish dinner. The catfish was very good so we returned this following Friday. The catfish was not cooked completely since it was firm, nonflaky and tough in the center part of the catfish filet. We told the waitress who stated she would get another. I waited for such a long time and my husband had finished his dinner sometime earlier. She finally returned after many attempts to get her attention to just get our ticket since we had waited so long. She left us a Styrofoam container with a catfish in it. We got home and not surprisingly it was inedible... It was disgusting.The waitress and this establishment apparently did not learn how to treat customers when they serve food that is not cooked throughly enough to be safe and edible. My husband in paying our bill also appropriately tipped this waitress before we realized the replacement of the catfish in the styrofoam was also inedible. They should learn that treating customers the way they would like to be treated would make more business sense.
First time at Smitty's. Had the Fried Chicken special. Great Fried Chicken, sides of slaw and potatoes were good also. I would recommend.

The best burgers around! Great onion rings and pulled pork too! Service is friendly and helpful. It is a bar with a small side dining room but is friendly with great food, so that's all you need!!
