I drive 90 miles just for Robert's gumbo, jalapeno cornbread, and deep fried jalapeños. Don't let the unassuming spot fool you. Never been disappointed and love talking to him. He definitely has a passion for his food.
My wife and I decided to stop by this New Orlens style diner for a late lunch on our eay back to Colo. The owner/chef graciously grilled my seafood platter vs the usual cornmeal/deep fried. It was perfectly seasoned & grilled and was some the BEST fish I have had in some time..I have been to New Orleans for dinner as a comparison. We recently moved to the area and finally made our way down to the house of gumbo. We had the gumbo, cornbread, and shrimp po boy. AMAZING food. Great flavor. Met the owner of the establishment. Very nice guy. I can’t wait to go back and try some different items.
