I called for a strawberry cheesecake for my mother in law and it was the most amazing cheesecake we have ever had! The entire family loved it and there wasn’t a piece leftover! We love Socials!!!

The food was all delicious and the service was excellent as well! We tried both tomato and loaded potato soup and they were both very good. The panini’s and wrap were delicious as well. If you are looking for a cute place for a yummy lunch then you need to come check this place out!

Nice small cafe, very clean and nice display of deserts. I ordered the bbq with pimento cheese with potato salad, very tasty, the rest of the group enjoyed their food.! Highly recommend

I wish I could comment on the cake I ordered from this establishment, because I had heard how wonderful they were. But, that would mean they had actually baked it. When I arrived to pick up my cake, I was informed by an employee/owner(??) that my order had been "missed." There was no cake for me! While mistakes happen, I was unprepared for the insincere, half-hearted apology for me not being able to have a cake for my mother's 80th birthday party in less than 2 hours. I was even more astounded by the negative attitude I received in response to expressing my sadness and frustration at this situation. While I'll give him credit for giving me a refund, he made no attempt to try and keep my future business.

I had the house grillie and potato salad with hibiscus tea. Everything was great! I've also tried a latte and cookie from them.... So good. Super fair prices, too.

Walked in to see a very disinterested waiter setting behind the counter. We sat ourselves without the employee getting up or welcoming us to the restaurant. Never smiled and wasn't friendly. Asked what we wanted to drink. We said water and he told us to get it ourselves. The food was bland and had an odd after taste. I almost never leave food on my plate. Especially when I'm hungry. But I left half my sandwich. Needless to say my wife and I won't be returning.

First time there and was happy. Quaint little Cafe looks like Paris bistro. Had the cuban sandwich with a salad. The strawberry vinaigrette was very good. The chef/server Allen was nice and very attentive to all the tables. Great looking desserts. Plan on going back tomorrow when in cape for another appt.

Delicious!!! Cuban and potato salad are huge. Definitely coming again. So many things to try. All homemade.

Allen is a great cook, pastry chef and host, he also caters and is the owner. Very inviting, comfortable and the food was scrumptious! If you get the chance you should definitely stop by, have one of his delectable pastries, a beverage and entree. You will not be disappointed!

This is one of Cape's best places to eat. I may be a bit biased (one of the owners is my brother, the other is a great friend), but I love eating there. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the food is always fresh (believe me, I've watched Albert make it from scratch in the kitchen). As for Allen's breads and sweets, they are to die for. Not only does he bake the sandwich bread, but his handmade cakes, cookie, cupcakes, and other pastries are available right there for dessert. Or if you want a great party treat, you can pre-order and Allen will make something special just for you. It truly is an amazing café. Glad to see you are back open. You have been missed.

An alert waiter welcomes customers, let's them choose seating, provides menus, serves whatever drink they order, and let's patrons take their time deciding. We ordered, he whisked our order into the kitchen, and tended to other customers. Soon he delivered our orders, which were very generous amounts, and we eyed the desserts behind glass, watched locals buy just the beautiful cupcakes and cookies, and couldn't resist leaving without taking some with us. Socials is a friendly, interestingly decorated intimate coffee shop and great place for lunch.

There are many things about Socials that I enjoy. Their baked goods are top notch, ranging from their cookies and cupcakes up to their tiered birthday/wedding/event cakes. We've ordered birthday cakes from Socials on multiple times and they are not only beautifully decorated, but are very sizeable and more than able to feed plenty of cake hungry party attendees! Their sandwiches, salads and soups make for an ideal lunch option that's not too heavy but rather filling. I'd recommend trying their chicken salad, its hard to beat, as is their loaded baked potato soup. I can't forget about their specialty coffees, either, which are prefect for the upcoming colder months. Their menu offers something for just about everyone's dietary needs, so be sure to stop in next time you're downtown in Cape Girardeau.
