Very original place, with pink chairs, old petrol dispensers, hanging bicycles, road signs, like the one for route 66, which we were following and that's why we came to this place. They also have a piece of pink car that doubles as a table. A good place to eat, they have sandwiches, soups, salads,... With the sandwich they give you a bag of snacks. The food is good. The waiters are very friendly. The price is economical

Wanted to try something new-to-me for lunch, so thought I'd give Carthage Deli a go. I love little local delis, and this one is located right on the historic square, so they definitely have the ambiance going for it. The food is pretty typical for a deli. Lots of different types of sandwiches. Kind of basic, but I'm not mad about it. Places like these just hit the spot sometimes. Hubby and I had the BLT and the turkey pesto sandwich. Plus some yummy frozen mochas. All good, and we left happy. We'll go back again.

My friend ordered a delicious looking Reuben sandwich. However my Grilled Chicken Salad was just chicken over Iceberg lettuce--a little disappointing for the price.

I love going to the Deli. All of their food is delicious and the ice cream and coffee options are wonderful too.

We had an incredible lunch and experience at the dinner. I got the French dip and turkey pesto. They were both amazing. I also got a toasted marshmallow iced coffee and brownie fudge sundae. They were also deliscious. We’ll definitely be going back.

It's my favorite place for a quick lunch. No more expensive than a fast food joint. Way better food.

I went it to try a malt and ordered a small chocolate malt. I was greeted, and the gal that made my shake was friendly. The chocolate malt was ok. I will come back and try a sandwich or one of the desserts in the dessert case as the chocolate chip scones look amazing. Best part of the Carthage Deli is the atmosphere and memorabilia. So many vintage signs and pictures that you feel like you are in the 50's/60's. I recommend giving the Carthage Deli a try.

Nice, proper, and professionally trained staff very polite. Food was delicious, meat seemed fresh, bread was not hard/old. Nice clean service area very recommended if you need a quick bite to eat

I've eaten at the deli since it's inception in the 80's. Sadly, today was my last day to show support to this hometown biz under the current owner due to the awful treatment and attitude of the owner. It's just goes to show that it's not always bad food that causes customers not to go back somewhere. If this is how you treat customers I don't know how you remain in business. If you are so defensive and can't bother to empathize saying "I'm so sorry about that, let me remake one" and instead say "it's not my fault you didn't read the menu" then why do you bother even being in customer service/restaurant biz anyway. So here's what transpired, ordered the daily special that was listed on the board. Got the food and realized it had mushrooms-food allergy! Took it back to the counter and said nicely that we didn't realize it would have mushrooms on it and had a food allergy. And the owner replied defensively that's how I make it and it says it on the menu to which we politely said, we said we just ordered from the daily special board and it didn't indicate that the sandwich was made with mushrooms (whereas at 95% of the other restaurants we order this normal sandwich it isn't served with mushrooms). 1. We saw it listed on the daily special board (no details given on how it's made. 2. Main menu board just lists the item-no details on how it's made 3. Website-no details on how it's made BUT 4. There is a printed menu that sits up by the register that you could look at providing you know it's there that evidently has the details of what's included. He did, with much attitude, remake the sandwich at no charge. We probably would have offered to pay for a remake because meat is expensive (but most restaurants will remake something not expecting remuneration especially if there's an allergy involved). As much of a grump butt that the owner is, I'd say he's burnt out and needs to hang up his apron strings and hand off the business to someone who cares about the customer. Just a very sad experience.

Nice atmosphere even though I got our order to go. I think I would have been pleased if I ate dine in. I was not pleased when I asked if they had any sandwiches that would be suitable for a toddler. Yes we have peanut and jelly, great. When I picked our order and returned to our local hotel room this small basic pb and j was an outrageous price.

The hot mocha coffee was delicious. The decorated sugar cookie was beautiful, soft, and the taste amazing. Service was friendly and inviting as always.
