We have been to El Salto several times to eat in and just ordered dinners carry out tonight. This place is amazing! The food is very good, very fresh and the restaurant is very clean. We have had good service every time we ate in. They seated us, took our orders and delivered the food all very quickly (but not rushed). The carry out order was ready as scheduled. The waiters and staff have always been very friendly. The menu has so many choices, it has many spelling errors but that just adds to the charm of the place.I love the pollo loco it is a large chicken breast in a great sauce with cheese served with rice, beans and a salad with guacamole all for like $13. My wife loves the grilled tilapia with vegetables. It comes with shrimp and the vegetables are fresh and well prepared. All our meals taste great and are big enough for leftovers.We will keep coming back. I hope they are able to stay open. Lots of great food, good service with a smile and a clean restaurant close by.

There are lots of Mexican restaurants in Chesterfield and the rest of St. Louis, so this comparison is specifically to those in the area.Restaurant is pretty new, so nice clean eating area. I had something new which turned out to be something I'll describe as a deep fried Taco. Meh. Didn't really like it. But I had a drink that was excellent and kinda surprised us all when it came out in a bowl! We thought they were bringing food to the wrong table.My wife as always had fajitas they were good. Daughter had the enchiladas again pretty good. A fun time great service but nothing really stood out to me. Just another Mexican restaurant.I'd definitely return for that $16 drink though.

Huge margaritas! But...this was the highlight. The service was slow. Fajitas and their salsa were good. It's in the old Chili's on the Chesterfield Mall parking lot. It pretty much still looks like Chili's and needs a little TLC in areas.

Staff was TERRIBLE. Came here with my cousins hoping to catch up as we came here out of town, hard to enjoy each others company when all we can focus on was how rude the server was. Food was okay, everything was very watery and over priced. Would not come back and i do not recommend.
Came here today and our waitress was extremely rude and dismissive. Im a server so I totally understand how it can be, no excuse for that behavior.

Walking through my dining experience we sat down and it took quite a while to see our server. We gave them the benefit of doubt. When she finally walked over we ordered our drinks. We got our drinks and we still did not have any chips and salsa. So we asked for some and it took at least 10 minutes for her to bring some out. While we waited for our chips the sweet tea tasted like it came from metal bucket. We then asked to switch the drinks out because we didn’t like the taste and she looked at us like we were stupid. We ordered our food and it came out relatively quick but it all tasted bad. No body at my table liked their food and mine was made wrong so unfortunately I had to send it back because it was made extremely incorrect. Everybody at my table waited until I got my corrected food because we all wanted to eat together as that is the point of going as a group. So everyone’s food got cold and our server at this point we have seen maybe twice. Everyone’s drinks were empty about the whole time of this experience. Our server was not very nice and gave us condescending looks. We finally asked for the manager and asked for a discount due to our service being so bad. And the manager said they couldn’t give us a discount because we ate a lot of chips. While nobody touched any of the food they ordered due to it tasting bad and we didn’t take any of it to go. He then argued with us and told us we had to pay for all the food we didn’t eat. Finally he said he could take some money off. We finally paid and left as soon as possible we were there for over and hour and half.

If there were negative stars i would be leaving that. I’m sure that is the worst service I have ever experienced in my life. We were checked 3 times in the 1 1/2 hrs we were there. They didn’t want to comp our food that wasn’t eaten because their food was so bad because we “ate a lot of chips”. Every time we asked our waitress for something she would give the rudest look and be like huh? My chimichanga was horrible. like how do you mess up tortilla and chicken? HORRIBLE RESTAURANT DO NOT GO HERE
