Back in the day, Mother's Fish was absolutely delicious! It's probably my fault that I expected the same deliciousness from over 25+ years ago.I ordered the CATFISH fillet dinner (two sides included), fried okra, and hush puppies, which came to the grand total of $18.21. They were working hard and quite polite, so I did give a tip.The falsely advertised CATFISH is not catfish, but the disgusting substituted Swai this businesses interchange these days. The meat has a light pinkish tint and wet texture. The hush puppies were mush on the inside. The okra and/or batter lack seasoning. I barely ate 1/4 of the food. I'm so disappointed and disgusted. To deceive customers into purchasing cheap swai for catfish pricing should be illegal. This is blatant false advertising ?.

My tripe was chewy & it wasn’t a sandwich. It was a piece of tripe on top of parchment paper, then under 2 pieces of stale bread with badly chopped onions & pickles. This was the worse sandwich experience I’ve had in awhile.

My husband and I placed a "to go" order late on a Friday evening and they had everything available! Our food smelled so good on the drive home. We ordered fried wings, Jack and a tripe, which turned out pretty good. The food is seasoned perfectly and piping hot. The owners are always nice and pleasant! I tend to forget they are located in Clayton, but will definitely make it a favorite!

This place is TRASH the only way there surviving is because it’s literally the only place to get food other than chipotle in Clayton . The food SUCKS!!!!! French fries are always a dirty brown because of dirty cooking oil. The chicken is always undercooked and has no seasoning or flavor. $10 for TRASH. Don’t waste your time or money. Also the place is filthy the floors walls.season the damn chicken Frank… better yet Stay away!!!!

I ordered wiings, and when they took the wings out of the grease, the guy started to put some kind of seasoning on them. I stopped him because I assumed the wings were already seasoned. Nope! I've never heard of seasoning fried chicken after it's cooked. I would not recommend orrering online from this place. Go in and take a look, and you'll probably change your mind about ordering here. The inside of the restaurant is filthy. the floor is dirty. the walls on the other side of the counter where they cook the food are dirty. It looks like they haven't cleaned in months. If you care about your health, don't order from this place.
