Great service! Great setting! White tablecloth was a nice touch. Mountain oysters lyonnaise slapped! I think Frenchie God rest his soul... would be proud. The reason I'm leaving only 4 stars is b/c my wife "booted" halfway through the rumple minze boot and still had to finish. Worth it!

Let me start by saying this place is stellar! My partner and I were wary to say the least. Hole in the wall and french cuisine do not typically come to mind in the same thought, yet here I am, trying to describe this place without saying dive-y. You can dress up, you can dress down, you can eat heavy, you can eat light. All-in-all exceptional food. I was concerned that our waiter was angry with us for the 1st half of the night, but eventually just wrote it off to him being a French fella. Going back soon!

First timer impressed with the steak frites with a Béarnaise that slaps your mouth stupid. Slightly disappointed that they had no calvados, but I'll give them time to grow. Fingers crossed.

I came here one time expecting something soooo good and tasty. Got the Rocky Mountain oyster melt bowl. Jackson Frenchies was an amazing restaurant with one of the best ambiance I’ve seen along with fantastic menu. The restaurant inside is quite dim, with beautiful chandeliers and warm ambiance which gives a very romantic vibe. It’s a white tablecloth restaurant with very professional waiters/servers which was amazing.Food was amazing - the ingredients were both fresh and refreshing. We ordered a sweetbread dish was shockingly delicious and made me want to lick off the plate!! Not to mention the Canard Montmorency duck dish was phenomenal and was good portion for 2 to share. They brought out a cute dessert to celebrate birthday which was a really nice touch, along with a beautiful boot of DELICIOUS Rumple Minze! Overall, a lovely restaurant for amazing experience!!

Jackson Frenchies is an unexpected Columbia gem. Newly established, this restaurant defies expectations by providing an old-world atmosphere. My wife and I opted for the "taste of france" five-course tasting meal, which began with an appetizer of succulent fried catfish, followed by three rounds of chips and salsa, and finished with the famous boot of Rumple Minze. I had difficulty getting the whole liter down, but I was encouraged by the entire waitstaff standing around the table silently staring at me. If I have one criticism, it's that Jackson Frenchies might hold itself to too high of a standard, exemplified by when I sat down and attempted to move my salad fork prior to food being delivered, at which point our waiter slapped my hand and called me an "unarcumptious troglodyte", which I'm not sure what to think of.

I must say I have been disappointed, the impossible foie gras was less than to die for. My wife tried the pork plate challenge and was met with unfortunate discouragement, our server doubted her ability to eat the whole plate, she kept asking if we “need anything else” as though she believed my lovely wife couldn’t eat the whole thing. Nonetheless, she ate all of the pork and yet we were still forced to drink the complimentary boot of rumple minze, they wouldn’t let us leave before we finished the boot. I thought that was rude, but the night was saved by the maître d who so graciously offered me a bump in the bathroom. Which was cool. The joint slapped harder when Frenchie still owned the place, RIP Frenchie!

Got head from the prep cook. Bit toothy but the ceaser dressing was to die for. EDIT!!! Sorry my cousin took my phone and left this review… the head was excellent.

Jackson Frenchies is an experience not t0 be missed! My wife and I recently went there for our 30th anniversary and had the time of our lives! She got the cognac flight and the Rocky Mountain Oysters with a shot of Rumple Minze and was delighted. I had the pork plate challenge and let me tell you.. IT LIVES UP TO ITS NAME!!! The shank leather is its own challenge all by itself but the long pig and bottomless bone sauce made me vomit. Luckily the complimentary Boot of Rumple Minze calmed my stomach and gave me the courage to drive home. I only wish Frenchie was there to present the whole ordeal with Black Cat sparklers like he used to.

Not like it used to be when Frenchie owned the place.(Frenchie was a hoot!)My favorite the Rochambeau rolls were alright but didn't slap like they used to but were still pretty tasty. The restrooms were on par with the other places in the neighborhood. Their aperitif selection is the best in Missouri.Over all probably one of the best places in Colombia for fine dinning.

Jackson Frenchies? Where do I begin? The Confit de canard is exquisite. If you're pressed for time at lunch, the Jambon-beurre is hard to beat in downtown Columbia. The Cognac selection is second to none in mid-Missouri. They even keep Hine XO Antique Grande in stock which is a rare treat in the landlocked midwest. Jackson Frenchies is one of those rare throwbacks to a simpler and some would say better time. This place has slapped hard for it's 60 year run. May it continue to slap far into the future!

My husband and I enjoyed our 50th anniversary here recently, having met at the bar of this restaurant in 1972. Just like back in the day, the place still slaps. He had the pork plate, and I went with the Rocky Mountain oysters au poivre. We enjoyed a night cap of Rumple Minze in a commemorative crystal boot.
