This place says it has classic sandwiches, well let me tell you to pay $10 for a 6-in sandwich where the bread is dry it has two slices of tomato on, the turkey is maybe two slices, lettuce is wilty is not a $10 sandwich to me. I would rather go to Subway and eat a veggie sandwich. I'm not sure who told me they had good sandwiches but let me tell you, it's not true.

Although the service and atmosphere was ok. The food products were off.We ordered a quarter philly and it had less than a teaspoon amount of meat in it.My half blt had plenty of bacon but one tomato and a smidgen of lettuce. There is absolutely no way it was a mistake or oversight.I visit here every time I get to town and this was disappointing.

My parents had always raved about this place so I thought I’d give it a try … NEVER again . The lady running the place was very rude to her cashier, I am a manager and I was completely appalled. On top of the dining area is just gross .. there’s buisness paperwork everywhere , even has old receipts from past transactions- I just don’t think that should be Out in the open like that…Not to mention for $13 I should have just went to subway … this place’s sandwich where subparIf that … my cat could have made me a better sandwich.

Very young staff that don't seem to take their job seriously. They were more interested in talking with their friends about drama. Soup was very salty. Salad was old, it was very wet without any dressing. French dip sandwich was overdone. The beef inside was crispy and dry. I used to love this place but hadn't been back in years. I should have read the reviews before going because it seems like I'm not the only one. We left and went across the road to G&Ds afterwards to get our money's worth.

Sub Shop has been a staple since I was a kid. But lately I have been disappointed nearly every time I order. For the prices ($18-24 for a full sandwich), I expect that my order will be correct, it will have quality ingredients, and the final product will taste good. Tonight’s order for a friend and me fell short on all 3 expectations. i got white bread instead of the wheat I ordered, it had ham instead of turkey, and there seemed to be way more bread than it should have (the meat and lettuce were both super skimpy). And one of the pieces of foil used to wrap the sandwich had been used on another sandwich - it had grilled onions stuck to it. I’m sure I’ll give them another chance, but I’m not feeling very proud of this particular long-time Columbia joint.

Every time I come to this location, I noticed how it has gone downhill more and more. Today might’ve been the last straw. My husband’s sandwich had a very long dark hair in it. And the pickles that he ordered to go with it had such a hard rind, he couldn’t bite through it. The rest of the pickle was super mushy. I’m not sure we’ll go back to this location.

Oh my. I used to eat at The Sub Shop when I went to college at Mizzou. While traveling thru Columbia, I decided to reclaim some of my youth and eat at The Sub Shop. I ordered my sandwich and then took a seat while it was prepared. This restaurant is filthy. So much so, that I am surprised that the health department hasn't stepped in and made them close shop. The tables were dirty and there is dust everywhere. A cockroach greeted me while walking to the bathroom. As I mentioned, I was traveling, and needed to use the bathroom. Upon entering the bathroom, I noticed that the toilet wasn't flushed, the sink was dirty, and the pump hand soap lid was off and the soap was empty. It looked like the bathroom from a third world country. Needless to say, I didn't use the bathroom. The ceiling had stains all over it from water leaks and there were stacks of paper lying all over the ground. It took a solid 20 minutes to get my sandwich, but honestly, after seeing how dirty the place was, I didn't have the desire to eat the sandwich....which cost $18 for a large sub, btw. If the dining area and bathroom are that unclean, I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. Spare yourself some potential food borne illness and go to a restaurant that takes pride in the way their restaurant looks.

I’m a big fan of the veggie sub for 30 years! But waiting 20 min for a sandwich that I preordered is just stupid slow. The atmosphere is just dim and dusty and doesn’t reflect what was once a great sandwich shop. I’m not sure I want to know what grade the health department gave this location.

Filthy, waaaay overpriced. It felt like we were nickle & dimed for every single item, even though we ordered the lunch special. The food was horrible at best. I wouldn't recommend this food establishment to ANYONE anymore.....even though it used to be one of our favorites.

The place was super disgusting, dirty and the floors were horribly sticky. I figured a place in that sort of shape being open so long the food must be good but I was sooo wrong. Ordered a ruben when I got home and opened it there was only one peice of meat and NOTHING else on the sandwhich. Ended up just pitching it.

My husband and I have grown up in Columbia. We raised our children here and one of their favorite things when coming home is sub shop.I have to say, we will never return again. We came on a Saturday night. We were the only people there . We ordered and sat down. Mind you, it was empty but every table was filthy and the bathrooms were disgusting. I asked if we could get it to go. We waited over 30 minutes and no one else was there. Staff was in back laughing and carrying on. We couldn’t get their attention so we left with no food. I doubt they even noticed. It’s sad how this wonderful restaurant has crashed and burned. I’ll never go back again.

I ordered 2 sandwiches online for Worley location and picked extra may and cheese. There is 1 slice of ham, hardly no cheese and no extra mayo at all! I had to add extra mayo. I will not order from the Worley location again. The downtown location is much better.

What happened to this place! They lady taking the order is past rude. The BREAD on our sandwich was dry and crumbling, never like that years ago. There was obviously business paperwork strewn in the corner west door. Floors filthy! I have to say the veggie contents in the sandwich was acceptable but not that bread! Chips undercooked, greasy and cold. ☹️ I have loved this place for years but I am concerned about how long it can last like this ?☹️
