Food is amazing! I have had the fortunate experience of eating here on three occasions. The most recent one did make me wonder if I will be back. Don’t get me wrong, the food is SO amazing. However, we did not end up doing the wine pairings this time, and realized that because of that, service was compromised and left us a little wanting from the time we arrived all the way through the 3-hr meal.On arrival 30 min before the dinner, we had to go find someone to see if we could get a pre-dinner drink. The owner apologized and served us directly, which was nice… but we took this drink into the dining room for dinner and were NEVER asked again if we wanted more… there were 4 of us! And this was through an entire 3-hr meal. We each separately had to chase down servers to get a second drink. In hindsight this seems kind of petty, but with an experience like Stone Soup, I expected them to be a little more on top of service. The owners were on par with serving meals and asking how it was.. but having to chase down people to see if we could have a second drink left our party a little wanting. It made me wonder if a fourth trip was in our future. ??‍♀️

I've put off writing a review of Stone Soup Cottage because I'm not sure I can properly sum up how beautiful of a place it is. We've been here several times for their wine pairing dinners, and I am always completely blown away; and that's putting it mildly. The space is just gorgeous. There's this moment when you're driving up in the dark, and suddenly you see this illuminated farmhouse in all of its glory, and you just know it's going to be a special evening. Their wine pairing dinners sell out quickly, so keep your eyes on their website and social media. I'd also recommend waiting for a dinner when you know you're going to love every single course, only because the dinners are quite expensive. We recently went to their white truffle dinner and had, hands down, the best dining experience of our lives. Show up early--I believe you can get to your table an hour before the dinner begins--and let their talented team craft you a cocktail. From there, you can definitely expect top-tier plates and expertly-paired wines. Truly, it's just a delightful experience from beginning to end. I'm always so shocked that this is all going down in Cottleville! We'll be back many times, if we're lucky.

It is a full evening experience. Plan on a few hours for dinner. No rushing through this meal. You get to take your time and enjoy every course. My husband and I have not spent that much time together talking in a long time. We celebrated our 33 wedding anniversary. It was a relaxing evening.

In a country filled with delicious food and wine, Stone Soup Cottage exceeds all restaurants we’ve tried. Chef Carl’s food is beyond delicious and is so beautifully presented. His wife, Nancy, the Cottage’s sommelier, pairs the perfect wine with each course, and her cocktails are also delicious. All this and the charming Cottage nestled on a beautiful farm, with their talented family members assisting with exceptional service. We’ve enjoyed SSC many times, and we look forward to many more times to come.

The food was absolutely amazing in a cozy yet upscale cottage ambiance. Many simple classics made with produce from the farm which equals a fresh wow factor. The fact chef takes his time to serve drinks and food was a very nice touch. Disappointed two items which should have come out warm arrived cold, including our soup. I left very satisfied and full, but my husband left still hungry. I'd say each course came about 30 minutes after the next and by the time the next course came he was starving. Everyone is served at the same time so their is definitely no chance in "rushing" the tastings. Hard to pay a hefty price for dinner and still need to get food on the way home. If you are an early to bed person or have something to do early the next day, this is not your place! We weren't expecting a 4 hour dinner....I think we were ready for bed by course 3 to be honest.

Amazing chef. Exclusive. Expensive. Wine flights excellent. Special occasion. Reserve far in advance.

Chef Carl & Nancy curated an exquisite coursed dinner experience that is second to none in the area. We felt welcomed by the staff, tasted outstanding dishes, and enjoyed every moment of our time there. Each month, Chef changes the menu based on seasonal themes and availability. The October autumn harvest selections did not disappoint; the brûléed sweet potato tartlet and salad was a personal favorite. Bravo! Cannot wait to return.
