I have to say, Uncle Julio's is my FAVORITE GO TO Mexican Restaurant in the St Louis area. no I haven't tried each and every one of them BUT their food, cocktails and great service NEVER DISAPPOINT!! so on a Monday, yes Monday, they ARE OPEN, YES!! slower, yet open ;-) Our server was Robert, who was ON HIS GAME. We recieved our chips and 2 different salsas, and margaritas promptly. I was starving and thirsty, so YES!! we then ordered both a steak and shrimp fajita meal to share. the food was SPOT ON, ROBUST FLAVOR, TENDER BEEF, TASTY SHRIMP!! when the term is used 'fresh-mex', I GET IT!! This was exactly what we craved!! As a matter of fact, I can't stop thinking about how great it was, and plan to return soon!! To take things even to a higher level, the Manager Brent made his rounds a few times, yes it was slower, but he was diligent on knowing we had everything we needed!! A great touch to the meal and ambiance. So in close, for me Uncle Julio's is a WIN, WIN!! Okay, some folks may think they are pricey, however I feel they are cost comparative, and you DO GET what you PAY FOR ;-)

Food is a bit elevated above other chains and taste is excellent. Service is always very prompt and professional. Delicious margaritas. We have eaten at this location as well as North Carolina and the consistency is evident.

Good food and friendly service. Chocolate Pinata was fun and tasty, but a bit large for a group of 4. I wish they had a mini Chocolate Pinata.

I had a taste for salsa. I was going to get it to go. I got there and decided to try a shot. I added guacamole and margaritas. The bartender was excellent. I love the Swirl Margarita. I didn’t like the monthly special: Watermelon Margarita. Had a great time. They changed shifts and offered me something else to drink free of charge. That was the new bartender. I declined. She tried hard to convince me. But kept my no. The theme is great. I love this place.

Guacamole and chips gave me an immediate stomach ache and I threw it out. The guacamole did not smell fresh/ did not smell like guacamole. It was 12.50 for the side of guacamole alone before adding on any chips, etc. Waste of money.

Don't think, go for it! It's the yummiest Mexican food I've eaten so far. The service is excellent, and the food is brilliant. It's perfectly portioned and seasoned. It's one of those restaurants that left me with the most satisfying experience.

The basic margarita is small, way too much ice with little product and expensive.

We never got past the appetizers, as even though we were there for THREE HOURS, we only saw our waiter twice. We ended up having to go to the bar to order drinks ourselves, and what a fiasco the bartender made that into. To top things off, I noticed this morning (the day after visiting the restaurant) that the bartender double-charged my card. $77 for one round (three individual drinks) of Hendricks gin and tonics! Needless to say, our group will never be back.EDIT: Since I can't reply to the reply below, adding it here. I have sent the double charge details to Caryle-Anne.

The most expensive, worse Mexican food I’ve ever had. Waited over an hour for food, ordered a two person Fijita meal came with three strips of chicken and three strips of steak, raw peppers, huge onion chunks, and the meat wasn’t editable. It was fatty and no flavor. Absolutely disgusting and so unbelievably overpriced. Completely disappointed and would not recommend to anyone. Save your money, especially on the $15 drinks. Horrible! Returned the entire meal and then the tortillas came out 20 minutes later. This place is a joke.

If you are looking for good TexMex, this is a great, inviting restaurant. Do try their guacamole, it is by far the best I've tasted in St. Louis. The staff are also very nice and accommodating. All in all, we have had a good experience each time we have dined here.
