CATERING REVIEWHi! I'm the husband the owner (who is the father of lies himself, the devil) referred to in a previous review. We were told we were ordering food for 120 people, heated dishes and delivery of said food. We got an invoice for that totalling $1700. We gave them that $1700. Now, if you've ever done business with someone who doesn't happen to be the prince of darkness or the serpent of Eden you might think that was the end of the transaction. But you would be mistaken.Mephistopheles decided to call me ON THE MORNING OF MY WEDDING to extort me for $400 more dollars to bring the food AFTER we paid the invoice and AFTER we had offered to pick it up ourselves but were told "oh, don't worry about that. The venue is a mile from here!". Which it is.We had not dealt with Mr. Morningstar before the morning of the wedding. We dealt with a lovely woman named Bridget who just happens to work for the devil.THEN Old Scratch decided to short us about half of our ordered food to make up for his imagined slight. We ordered food for 120 people, had 90 in attendance and had about half as much food as we needed. If you want to stop in for a sit down bite, the place is awesome, the food is great, and maybe you'll meet one of the best ladies yet. If you have ideas about ordering catering from this place, think again. I've never had a more unprofessional experience with any company.

I was a vendor at the wedding this company catered.I have never witnessed such garbage service. The owner called the groom during pictures at the wedding, and demanded an extra $400. He said someone forgot to charge the couple for set up.To make matters worse, they didn't even supply enough food to feed 75 people, little less the 120 people they ordered.I was flabbergasted at the lack of professionalism. The restaurant is delicious. The catering can't be trusted.

We had a very bad experience with having Big Muddy cater our wedding, and I cannot recommend them for a special event. We scheduled a tasting with Bridget and had a great experience with amazing service and wonderful food. We were excited to choose Big Muddy and told all of our guests about how great the food would be. About 2 weeks before the wedding, we ordered what we wanted and paid in full, I think $1700, for food and delivery with chafing dishes. The day of the wedding, about 3 hours before we were supposed to walk down the aisle, the man who was delivering the food called my husband and told him that we were quoted the wrong amount and needed to pay an additional $400 before he would deliver the food. So on the morning of his wedding, the groom is panicking that the food we have already paid for won't be delivered. He told Big Muddy that we paid what we were quoted and the day of the wedding was an unacceptable time to decide we needed to pay more, and this person agreed to deliver the food. When we got to the reception, we were sad to see that the amount of food we got was far less than we had ordered. We ordered enough food for 120 people and only about 90 came to the reception. There was still not nearly enough food, and a guest who owns a restaurant out of town said it wasn't nearly enough to expect to serve 100 people, much less the 120 we had been told it would serve. Additionally, the brisket and pulled pork were dry and tough, and not anywhere near as good as the food we had tasted. We were really looking forward to this meal, and we were super disappointed in the quality, quantity, and professionalism displayed by whoever decided to try to extort more money out of the groom on his wedding day. Unfortunately, I would advise anyone looking into catering with Big Muddy to go somewhere else.To address the owners absolute lies in response to one less than perfect review: we ordered set up and heated pans both when we originally ordered the food and when we confirmed and paid, all well before the wedding. The extent of the set up was quite literally lighting chafing dishes and placing them on a table. There were never supposed to be any servers, not sure where you got that. We had a buffet style. We ordered a few heated chafing trays and delivery. That's it. Again, all of this was agreed upon before and confirmed when we paid, and it was only the morning of the wedding that the owner decided we hadn't paid enough despite paying what we had been told we owed for what we requested. We also had never spoken to the owner before this, so his account of "what really happened" is odd given that he was not there for any of our previous conversations and did not know what we had ordered. If you invoiced us incorrectly, that is not our fault and the morning of the wedding is not an appropriate time to demand an additional $400 just for chafing trays when we had coordinated all of this two weeks before. You had two weeks to contact us to change the invoice. It was very unprofessional to act like that the morning of, and the owners response to what I feel is a fair review of the service we received shows that this level of unprofessionalism is probably not a rare occurrence. Also, I noticed that you didn't respond to not giving us the amount of food that we ordered and paid for. Bottom line, the owner tried to wring an extra $400 out of a groom on his wedding day and then did not provide what was ordered. We did not request a refund or take any action other than to tell others about our experience. The owner's response shows a lack of accountability and professionalism, and it's a shame because everyone else we worked with was wonderful. I hope your response shows what kind of business owner you are and discourages people from trying to plan an event with you.

Good food, excellent service! The young lady that took our order also prepared our meal and basically did everything. She's amazing! And we didn't have to wait very long at all for our order. Everything was perfect!

I've been here twice and I'm not going to come back for a third. The pulled pork was dry and bland. The brisket was slightly above meh, nothing I'd brag about though. The sauce is actually really good, but they barely give you any. The employees were okay. It seemed clean, but I wasn't looking hard. If the pulled pork was juicy, that would make the food at least three stars. And if they weren't stingy with the sauce, that could bump it up to four stars.

I really wasnt impressed . The brisket was good. Potato salad was like mashed potatoes with eggs and pickles. The baked beans was like van camps vegetarian with bacon and I think peppers or pickles added to it. Chicken had way to much rub on it and dry. I won't stop again.
