Hadn't been here in years. My friend said they were in the mood for a sandwich for dinner or a burger. We were near the square, so I suggested here.We were seated quickly as they were not busy. We ordered and received our drinks. The food arrived in a timely manner.The burger was cooked perfectly, and the French fries were incredible. I need to come back because my kids will love these fries.I wondered why I hadn't been here in so long. I'll definitely be returning soon.

Food was not hot at all. Had Chicken Fried Steak meal and the mashed potatoes and gravy were cold, meat was luke warm, green beans were cold. Service was great, as server did replace the mashed potatoes and gravy. Not at all what we expected for the price.

The Wednesday special was beef stroganoff and it was awful. The meat was tough and it looked like hamburger helper. My wife had the tenderloin and she said it was good. The server must have been new. She didn't do anything unless ask. The manager picked up the dirty dishes that the server ignored. I was going to have the salad bar but there was no lettuce, only spinach.
Everytime we come here it's fantastic. We had our engagement party there and it was wonderful. They're always so nice to my daughter even when she's being a normal toddler and throwing a fit.Love this place so much.Kid-friendliness: They really seem to love kids here and are very accommodating
Wonderful little pub. I had some business over in independence at the courthouse and wanted to get some local lunch while I was there. This spot did not disappoint. The atmosphere was wonderful, staff was helpful, and the food was fantastic. Definitely would not hesitate to go there again. Although it was cold when I was there, the outdoor area looked exceptional as well.

Cute restaurant in basement on historic Independence square. Walls are stone. Beautiful wooden bar. Home cooking food, very good. Server friendly, but busy.
