You know what, I'm not sure exactly how or why our Caribbean brothers and sisters are here in Jefferson City child (of all places), but Jah knows I'm grateful! The oxtails and gravy was delicious; the portion was large and the pieces were meaty. The rice and beans were good too. I could live without the cabbage, the flavor just wasn't with the it, but honey it was all up in them oxtails.

We had the Jerk Chicken and Curry Shrimp, both with sides of rice n beans and potato salad. We tried the Beef Patty as an appetizer...very good. The taste brought back memories of my first taste of "jerk" seasonings in Montego Bay. The chicken had a nice smoke flavor from the grill and the sauce was delicious. The potato salad was a nice addition and aided in "cooling" down the spice intensity.I've read some other reviews about "rude service" but obviously they're not accustomed to how Jamaican's conversate! I thought they were extremely nice and personable.I will go back to this restaurant when I'm in Jefferson City again.

I was happy to find this as an option to regular fast food. However, it turned out to be a great disappointment. I went online I found them menu. I ordered what I thought would be a $20 meal. When I showed up I was told $28 For the meal. Apparently the prices on the website changed. There was nothing to show that when I placed my order with the person on the phone. She never inquired as to how I got that information or two informed me that the prices had changed. When I asked, that's what she told me the prices changed, and she started pointing at the wall. Where the prices were listed, I related that I came here based on their website and that I should get the website prices. I am told "I work here". Because I ordered hungry and showed up hungry. I reluctantly accepted the meal. I was even more disappointed when I got home to find it was covered in jerk seasonings. So much so that it made it inedible. I had the red beans and rice, supposedly made with coconut milk or water, but you couldn't tell that because it was smothered in jerk. When I see that much sauce covering up the food, I'm sure it's hiding something. Sure enough the oxtails that I had ordered were pure fat small bones. The cabbage had zero taste not even salt. Be careful when you order something with sauce and they give you a ton of it because it is usually hiding something else. I'm sure that they make good food but this was not a good meal. The oxtail stew, and, I had ordered plantain. When I got there, the price being what it was, I ended up leaving without the plantain. When I asked them to give me the plantain at a discount price considering I was there under false pretenses based on your website was once again reminded "I just work here". So very disappointing. An employee of mine they told my customer I just work here would probably not work there very long because that's not the attitude I want to give my customers. The employee should be able to satisfy a customer especially if the customer has been wronged to some degree. There were two ladies there and they both basically dismissed me with. "I just work here." it is with great disappointment that I have to leave this very negative review. But you all will never have to worry about me coming across your threshold ever again. Unless there is change in your staffing.

Sadly this is the only Caribbean/Jamaican restaurant that is displayed on DoorDash and Uber Eats. The food has no flavor whatsoever let alone a Caribbean flavor. This is a far cry from Caribbean food. I was so excited when I saw items such as sorrel, callaloo, and Jamaican Johnny Cake, on the menu, thinking I would get tasty food, authentic flavors. I was so disappointed. The only items that were tasty were the fried plantains and the potato salad. The oxtails were cooked well, nice and soft, so were the butter beans but once again no flavor. The gravy was watery, very thin, no flavor. The chicken was softer than it looked but definitely didn't taste like brown stewed chicken, no flavor.

What a pleasant little surprise in the middle of the capital. Yes, this little gem is tucked in the side of a building. No, not rear, not front, but side. The place has “Jerk” written on the sign; therefore, why would I not get the Jerk Chicken, with rice and beans. The place was deader than my Grand Pa’s brother’s best friend’s kid sister’s ex-boyfriend’s father’s 2nd cousin Louie. Hardly any signs of life. While this often scares me, as places are dead for a reason; usually, it is due to the service being awful, or the food is garbage. However, due to my current lust of Jamaican Food, and this place being 4 blocks from the hotel, I thought I would give it a whirl. This was good. As I stated earlier, I had Jerk Chicken. They give you a very good portion size and enough jerk sauce to cover it all. The chicken itself was either boiled, or slow cooked, I am not for sure which it was, but it had a little of that dead taste (just blah) when you slow cook food like that and don’t add anything to it; however, it was still moist, and not dry. Now the sauce about sent me to the moon. It was semi-sweet, with a lot of tang, and some spice. I think their secret ingredient in the sauce was voodoo. The sauce!!! The sauce!!! Dear Cthulu Almighty… The Sauce!!! As I said earlier, they provide plenty of sauce. The sauce made of for the little bit of drab the chicken had, as it was that damn good. I had rice and beans for the side. I think this is where the magic begins. See, they basically thew into a to-go container, and shook it all up. They take the to-go container, place the chicken in it, then they add the rice and beans, and finish it off by dumping all that delicious sauce all over the chicken. Then they close the lid, say a voodoo blessing and shake it all up. Then they give you the go container and say, “Enjoy.” I absolutely loved the rice and beans. They give you a lot of it, and I ate it all. I enjoyed the rice and beans more than the chicken since it had some of that jerk sauce on it. Service here is non-existent. Maybe, there was a miss communication with me and the lady taking my order, but I was given a takeout box, and I went and sat at a table to eat my meal. I am going to guess that this place has more take out than dine in, which is sad, their dining area is brightly colored and festive. Clean too… Nice little dining area. Fellas, here is a negative. Give people more than one napkin. Your food is good; however, it is messier than a one-year-old doing a cake smash. I had to steal a few paper towels from the lady who was cleaning in the front of the house and whipping down the countertop when she wasn’t looking. If I am ever in Jeff City again, I will defiantly eat here again. The food was that good, and I want to try a few other things out on their old menu. ***Warning*** They only stay open until 8:00 pm. Therefore, do not wait to late into the evening to go there.
