I want to live here so I can try everything on the menu…. Every amazing bite. We had incredible truffle eggs Benedict, Cuban confit pork Sandwich and zucchini corn fritter. - passionfruit curd tart. Every bite was amazing. Even the side of black beans was special. Best bacon I ever had.

I was looking for something unique for breakfast. I'm on the road a lot and didn't want another hotel meal. So I walked a couple of blocks an stumbled on this restaurant. It looked really inviting from the outside, so I thought why not. I entered obviously unfamiliar asked about breakfast. Immediately, the young lady made me feel as though I was interrupting her. Almost like I had done something inappropriate, I was just taking a moment to acclimate. She could have said "hello" or "good morning" anything but there was no welcome. She could have maybe just politely pointed out the breakfast menu, but I found it on my own.I got a quiche and ordered the ricotta hot cakes. She informed me it would take up to 15mins, I had time so why not. They actually took 25mins with only six people in the restaurant, two of which had already eaten. I got to thinking if you have a breakfast item that takes that long then why have it on a menu. When the hot cakes came out she didn't literally throw them down, but it felt that way. I don't know this person, but for some reason she was put off by me, not sure why. She put tye food down, it was very impersonal, not even an "enjoy" or these are "great ". Like food being slopped on a tray. With all that said, the food was good, the coffee smooth and approachable. The atmosphere a decor pleasant.I'm just assuming that older well traveled, well educated, well kept Hispanic males, don't fit the demographic they want to attract.

Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate drinks all very much above average. I've had several kinds of quiche there and they've all been perfect. Very helpful, unrushed service. It's just a great place to hang out for a while with breakfast or brunch, a cup or a glass, friends or a book.

I had to update my review because I had a really off experience yesterday, and I hope it was just a one-time deal. Because I am used to ordering anything in the pastry case- including the gluten-free orange poppyseed cake - and it being incredible and decadent. However, yesterday the orange poppyseed cake had a very bitter astringent flavor to it like maybe the pith of the orange/too much of the rind was used when zesting the orange or maybe it was something else but, it was throughout the whole cake. I will try the cake out again here soon, and hopefully, this problem isn't presenting itself again I still highly recommend this Australian bakery and cannot wait until they move into the larger location where the downtown Plow Boys used to be, so do not let this review discourage you from visiting!

A little quiet bakery with absolutely astounding food! We got the biscuits and gravy - the BEST biscuits and gravy we've ever had. So delicious, the biscuit was baked to perfection and the gravy was packed with flavor. I also got a vanilla custard tart and they were so good I bought 2 more to take home for later. The beef and cheesy potato pie was delicious as well, but the biscuits and gravy really were the star here.

Such a refreshing dining experience to stumble upon while visiting KC. Can’t speak more highly of the food - which I can only describe as an explosion of flavour in my my mouth- I had the truffle eggs Benedict - and my partner loved the corn fritters and the coffee was delicious. My partner commented the pastries were so fresh and reminiscent of the quality we enjoyed on a recent trip to France. Wonderful service from super friendly staff - well done to the owner- KC needs more cafes like this.

We absolutely loved this place! We were actually heading to Mildred's when we found Banksia and could not recommend it enough. They have a variety of pastries and sandwiches. The ambiance is amazing and has another room attached as well as a patio that we weren't able to check out due to the weather. The service was quick as you order when you come in and they bring you your food. We got the BLT and brie sandwich. Awesome place for a coffee date or some light work

The food was phenomenal. We got a burrito and a sandwich for breakfast, and they were both great. In terms of atmosphere, I felt like they were extremely busy but handled it really well. I will be back again when I visit KC.

First time visit and it's a very nice and clean. Ordered and tip in advance which we did as we typically do and then we found a table to visit and wait while they prepared our food. It came out in a very timely fashion and definitely fresh. You are expected to clean up after yourself and clean and put away your dishes in an area that was completely overflowing with dirty dishes. We went to the counter after our food was delivered and asked for refills of our drinks and was told they would bring us some out soon and over twenty minutes passed and nobody ever attempted to help us so without a drink our entire meal. I feel if you want to tip do not when you order and tip in cash after if they do anything to warrant a tip. Everyone's food was ok but nothing spectacular for certain. None of our group of 4 finished their meal and I noticed many other people scraping a good bit off their plates during our time there.
