I've been here twice and it was exceptional both times. I wouldn't hesitate to go back. The drinks are exceptional and so is the food. 10/10

The food was amazing so really no complaints there at all. I think we tried everything they had on the menu and it was all so good. The ambiance would be my only critique and didn’t feel it matched the quality of the good but it wouldn’t keep me from going back.

I really wanted to love this place, but after being seated (we had a reservation) and given time to look over the menus, our server came back to tell us they were sold out of three of the four entrée options. We ordered the one option that was available and one small plate, only for her to come back and tell us the small plate was also sold out. The only things left on the menu were two appetizers and a salad. We got the brisket, which was very good, and the server offered to bring more tortillas. We noticed those later came up as a charge on our bill. You would think after being told that more than half of your menu is unavailable, someone would’ve come to apologize or even not charged us for extra tortillas because of the inconvenience. We also noticed they continued to seat people, knowing over half the menu was not available for them to order! I think if they would’ve at least acknowledged what a poor experience we were having, we would give it another try.

This place was pretty good. I wouldn't rush back. First, make a reservation. It's small. Even the bar holds 3-4 couples. We went for Valentine's Day. Queso fundito wasn't my favorite. To their credit, they use real cheese, not cheese product, so it doesn't melt as well. The smoked carnitas were very tasty but didn't have the seared crust on the outside. The scallop risotto was just ok. The cocktails were good, not great. It's very meat forward, being a South American bbq place. They had one mushroom dish for vegetarian people. If you don't like meat, this isn't your place. Overall, it was pretty good but very spendy. I won't be back soon but it's worth trying.

I recommend booking a reservation online. Everything on the menu is good! Also have a cocktail and house made chocolate.

Great food and great mocktails and cocktails. My husband had the Saudero which was so good. I had the shrimp which was excellent. Queso fundido was the perfect starter!

No appetizers was a let down. Food tasted great but portions are smaller. Service was good and prices are kind of high. Overall good experience.

This is a cozy Mexican restaurant with a KC barbecue influence. The cocktails are imaginative and delicious. The food menu is limited, but that just means everything on it is thoughtfully created and prepared. The elote is a fun twist, using corn two ways - as kernels and fritters, with a delicious mayo and cayenne sauce. My wife had the smoked carnitas, which were tender and flavorful. I had the smoked beef rib, which was amazing. The bark was beautiful, the bome came right out of the tender meat, and the accompanying salsa was delicious and played beautifully off the richness of the beef. We will definitely be back.

Tried out Barbacoa this evening after hearing only good things & left fairly disappointed. Service was super slow & our waitress was MIA for most of our meal. Outside of the sauce in the pescadito dish, everything truly lacked flavor and tasted simply like the ingredients themselves. Would've loved to see homemade tortillas on the menu, however instead there were Yoli tortillas (which are good) but were not prepared well. There were definitely liberties made in the drink menu & I have to applaud that, but the food and service just fell short & I don't think we will visit again.
