When we entered the building staff was very nice off the bat. Food took a while but it was extremely busy so it was understandable, waitress was very kind. loved the drinks there and the food was great!

We were staying at the Hampton Inn downtown and were looking for a good restaurant within walking distance of our hotel. The city market area has about a dozen restaurants to choose from, so we chose this one. It was an excellent choice. The restaurant is very bright due to having a lot of windows, as well as many light fixtures inside. We started with the shrimp toast appetizer, and it was outstanding. It contained toasted pieces of baguette covered in gold shrimp, moray, chives, Sriracha, nuox Cham cauliflower, and sesame crunch. I could just eat that dish again for my dinner. For entrees, we had the Bahn MI sandwich and the grilled quail. The Bahn MI consisted of pork meatballs, bacon pate, pickled vegetables, chili aioli, banana ketchup, chili oil and cilantro. It was very flavorful but a little spicy. My husband had the grilled quail. He loved it. It was accompanied by ginger-lime fried rice. We would definitely return.

The food was great. We had the Quiche Florentine, Hot Chicken and Waffles and the Huevos Rancheros and they didn't disappoint. We sat on the Patio for brunch and even though it was a little hot, it was really nice. Service was good for how busy it was and overall had a great experience.

Brown and Loe... I love that they included a color in their name. However I felt like a cow eating grass in a pasture, the food tasted like absolute and utter (udder) dirt.

It was good, but I didn't know the menu wasn't what was listed online. I'm a vegetarian, and because of change, there was only the appetizer Hummus available to have for dinner.

This was the best salmon dish I've had anywhere in recent years. The salmon was blackened, crispy and well cooked. The cheesy risotto was to die for! The pickled vegetables included olives which are my fav. I will returning soon to order this again. Hopefully this item stays on the menu for awhile!

Drinks were fairly pricey - $16 for a standard dirty martini. Had a beef and pear sandwich that was tasty

B&L is in my neighborhood and I’ve gone there for years. The menu offerings and quality has continually gone down. Last night we had soggy lobster rolls and the “filthy” cherry in my just-okay, $17.50 Old Fashioned was floating cherry bits. Come on, can I at least get a whole cherry? It would be better if it was a bank once again.

We went for Saturday brunch. The food was good. I can't say outstanding. The staff was wonderful and fun atmosphere.

Don’t support a place that charges $32 for a double Bloody Mary & won’t tell you before hand. Terrible. Stopped by before the KC Current home opener & it was obvious they were taking advantage of the increased traffic with a limited menu with higher prices that usual.

I live in the area, so I've spent several dining experiences at Brown & Loe. Definitely gets packed (as expected, it's the river market after all!) so due to times I've come in when it was packed, service might have been slowed down a tad only due to the amount of people inside and or waiting, but I've always been acknowledged no matter how busy, had good, friendly service, and always had a delicious meal. I've tried a variety of items of the drink and food menu at this point and I have no complaints about anything. Great dinner ambiance. Pro tip - please make a reservation ahead of time though. River market can get incredibly busy (no surprise!) so don't be upset if you show up and have to wait because you didn't prepare for dinner rush on a Friday or Saturday night. Highly recommend.
