Local dive in the heart of Kansas City serving authentic Latin/Mexican food. They have a drive through food pickup lane in front. Screen in patio seating and indoor seating. Our first time here. We sat in the screen in patio area. Nice, clean with enough seating for about 20 people. We ate and watch several cars drive up for food/drink pickup. Price may be a little higher than other places but food is really good and authentic.
Honestly I don’t leave reviews often but I had to this time and it’s not great. I wanted to try something new, so I got the quesabirria, the birria burrito, and the mini burritos. Well let’s just say I’m not satisfied with the quality honestly, both of the meats in the quesabirria and birria burrito were unseasoned and a bit flavorless and the rice was as well. The mini burritos are just jam packed with sour cream that’s all I could taste the only thing that was actually decent out of all this was the beans I do not recommend eating here for lunch.

Cancun Fiesta Fresh has replaced Pancho's as my go-to Mexican drive-thru in Midtown. As a UMKC student, I had a lot of nights when I'd get in late from studying or going out drinking with friends, and we almost always decided to pick up food from Cancun or Winstead's because of the price point. The fish tacos, tacos de papas, quesadillas, and the margaritas are great for a night in. They're all filling with excellent flavor and value. I'm not a fan of their queso, as it's way too runny for me, and several of my friends agree that it's a miss. Despite the craze, I wouldn't order the birria tacos again-- it might be a personal preference, but I found them overly chewy and greasy. I've never had problems with getting a wrong order or waiting too long. The staff has always been friendly and efficient. That being said, in all the times I've been there, I've never dined in.
