Low key, fun and friendly. Taco Tuesday happy hour specials were great and generous. Definitely Tex Mex style food, enjoyed beef and chicken crunchy tacos, chips, salsa and queso with house margaritas. Enjoyed it all-and Courtney was an excellent bartender/server!

Decent Mexican food! Somewhat disappointed at the prices for quality and quantity of food offered. The place is clean and it would be a good place to watch sports. Overall, not overwhelmed by my experience but 4 stars is fair.

What a disappointment! We had a waiter with a couldn't care less attitude. The music is so loud you can't speak to each other unless you lean in closer. It can't be turned down apparently, we asked. Chips and salsa for $5.20 with the hot salsa tasting like soap. We asked for an extra salsa and got charged another $5.20. If you feel like having a margherita, get a beer instead. The main dishes were just mediocre at best. Everyplace can have an off night, but this was across the board.

What happened to this place? Used to be good. They expanded since we last went. Now it feels like they’re trying to be be more of a club bar than a restaurant. My husband said his mole was terrible. I got the drunken worm nachos like I used to, but they weren’t as good. And whatever you guys are putting in margaritas is ruining them.

Cool cozy Mexi-kitsch atmosphere, friendly service, and solid tequila, mezcal & draft beer selection. Plus a short but interesting specialty cocktail menu.Parking: Always tough to find parking in W 39th St neighborhood, but they do have a lot around the side/back.

Upon arrival as I was walking in it was very pleasant. The people seemed to be having a good time and it was very chill. Unfortunately it stoped there. I ordered steak and shrimp fajitas with Jalapeños and chips and salsa. The food was absolutely terrible. 40 cold pickled Jalapeños on top of my semi warm fajitas. It paired well with the flat warm Modelo! I couldn’t stomach any of it. Worst money I have ever spent.

Went for brunch, and it wasn't bad. Had the chilachiles burger. Two favorites together, sounds awesome. Was a bit overdone. Service was fine, and the ambiance was nice and quirky.

My server was great. I had two tacos and Spanish rice. They were good. The chips and mild salsa were very good.

Usually have good experiences but came back on a Saturday night and had an extremely poor experience. It took about fifteen minutes to receive any attention from the staff, who told us they wanted to close our section down so we had to move...LOL...wait another ten minutes until someone takes our orders and by then they've already closed the kitchen down. Super disappointing.

Literally worst place ever seriously just had someone bring me food to the hospital they get here it’s $50 for street tacos a tiny container of rice and beans like seriously probably 5 oz container each. A small thing of queso and no salsa. My tacos aren’t even tacos it’s a pile of steak and 4 shells stacked together.DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. It’s seat yourself and the ambiance is for us 90’s kids great music, great food

Wow! Came to write a positive review and saw so many negative ones?Took a work friend out for the day and asked what kind of food she wanted. She found the Drunken Worm.Definitely a bar atmosphere. But the food and drinks were amazing! And our server (feel bad for not getting his name) was attentive and answered all of our questions and made suggestions.Definitely can’t wait to take some other people back! And for someone who avoids eating out because of food sensitivities, this says a lot.Food recommendations: Worm Dip & Chicken Enchiladas (And we had enough that I brought home leftovers)Drink: Paloma MargaritaDietary restrictions: Gluten Sensitive

The portions were really small for the price. The food was good but nothing in comparison to an authentic Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere was basically like a sports bar. We stopped here because it was close. It wasn't bad but there are definitely better Mexican restaurants. The service was ok. We had one server that was pretty rude, but another that was nice, though no servers really checked on us without being flagged down.

Visiting from out of state and my friends took me here on Tuesday and they have a great happy hour deal 4 tacos for $7 and house margaritas were also delicious (you can mix and match beans, beef or chicken). I think the chicken ones were thes best! We ordered the queso/mango salsa with chips as an app and the queso was bomb and the probably the best freshest mango salsa we've ever had! Nice little hidden gem and has an open outdoor vibe so you can enjoy fresh air while eating/drinkingParking: street parking

If you're looking for good Mexican food, this is the place. The food was great. The waitress was knowledgeable, prompt and courteous. I would highly recommend the Drunken Worm, and will definitely give them a second visit. Try the worm dip ?
