Today was my first trip to Michael Forbes Bar & Grille in Brookside, MO.It's a nice-looking place with a warm greeting and quick seating. Water was brought to the table immediately, and my drink order taken quickly.My entrée was the seared salmon salad, which was prepared very well, but the salmon portion size was only about the size of a large chicken finger, leaving me exceptionally disappointed at this price-point. While I was eating, all I thought was, "shrinkflation is here."Checking out was pretty quick, even at the busiest dinner hour.All-in-all, this was moderate value for my $25, due to the portion size, but I don't regret the experience.

Great little place with a long history in KC. I met a friend there for happy hour at 3 o'clock. We wanted to meet somewhere quiet for an informal business meeting, and he chose here. I enjoyed my specially priced margaritas he enjoyed a nice white wine. The food was ok. We only had appetizers. But I need to return for a meal. They have some good-looking daily specials l really want to try. If you're looking for a great place where the locals hang out with good drinks and tasty food, this is definitely that.

Green beans are just thawed. Not really cooked. I understand you want to keep the color...but butter should melt on them. Also Yukon golds would have been better than reds. It was just ok. However the sandwich and burger that my friends had were good.

My experience was not good. There was no one at the door when we arrived and waited at the front for 5 minutes. We waited 30 minutes for our lunch order when they basically had no other customers. The server wasn't proactive or very apologetic. The music was also dreadful. The food was burnt and not worth the money.

We decided to try out Michael Forbes for KC Restaurant Week, but actually all ended up ordering off the regular menu because it was not a deal. If you ordered the most expensive items for each course from the options presented on the KCRW menu, you save a measly $4 bucks. If you don't order the Crispy Shrimp as the appetizer, it doesn't matter what else you order, you'll be paying more than if you had ordered all the items separately. Obviously, that's not great to see as a customer, but it is what it is. However, the 3 star rating is not due to the KCRW menu. The Bacon Brie Burger was just not that great. My supposedly medium-well burger was really pink and had pink-red juice coming out. The brie on the burger was not really all that melted (maybe that's how it was supposed to be), but it was honestly just weird. The fries were a bit on the colder side and not seasoned well. However, the portion size is huge, so that is a plus. However, all the menu items were very very affordable, especially the fact that we were there for dinner. Others at my table enjoyed their respective meals, so I would just suggest staying away from the Bacon Brie Burger. I would be down to come back and try another menu item given the variety and affordability--- it's just unfortunate this meal was a bit of a flop!
My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant for the first time tonight. It was amazing!! We enjoyed their wonderful restaurant week menu. We had multiple people bringing food and drinks to our table. You can tell the staff is fully involved and values teamwork to ensure great service to every guest. Our server was Kye and he was so attentive and polite. He knew what we needed before we had to ask. I will be back again and if kye is working I want his section!Dietary restrictions: Menu is labeled with gluten free and vegetarian options. Our server, kye also informed us of anything we ordered with nuts (even though we had no nut allergies)

We asked our server for some recommendations but everything we pointed out, he simply said it was his favorite. I tried the 'famous' green olive spaghetti and I was less than impressed. Little to no olives but loaded with onions and mushrooms. Something I could have made at home from a box. Server brought our checks before we could order dessert so we asked to order dessert but probably should have just grabbed the checks.
