I come here with friends quite a bit. I absolutely love the homey vibe, the sweet staff, and the owner himself is a great guy. I love Red Apple Diner! :)

Small town dining in the big city. Trouble is, it's not the best of small town. We went on a Saturday late morning. Nothing to indicate whether we had to wait to be seated or we seat ourselves. After being ignored by several employees we decided to seat ourselves. then we had to wait for someone to bring us menus. After several servers looked our way and went a different way, we finally got menus and water. I felt like they pulled the prep cook out because nobody else wanted to help us.It took a while but we finally got the biscuits and gravy we ordered. Tasted like canned or frozen biscuits and gravy mix. Not the worst I've ever had but nothing I couldn't have done at home. The price wasn't too bad but overall I felt it could have been better after all the rave reviews.

The food was good but pricey for the small items I got. My server took my order, dropped off my food and then disappeared. ?

I had the steak and eggs, and the steak was good and well cooked. The eggs were cooked correctly, but I got barely any hasbrowns, and everything lacked simple seasoning it was all bland. For the money wasn't worth it.

Food was decent, but nothing special. Service was good and the old pizza hut was fine to dine in. All around a good little breakfast lunch spot.

This is the second time we’ve attempted Sunday breakfast at this spot, and there will not be a third. I get being busy on a Sunday, but the quality of service we received was tremendous. We waited 15 minutes standing at the front door for a table, when there were several open. Immediately after we were seated, a party of 1 was sat next to us. Before we could even get our drink orders in, he had placed his, and his food order, and received his food. Probably within a span of 10 minutes. And we hadn’t even been asked what we wanted to drink.Once we finally got our order in, the food took about 30 minutes, which was to be expected. My “chopped steak” was literally a slab of unseasoned, grey ground beef. Completely flavorless. The wife’s waffle looked decent enough, but not $12 worth. We went the whole meal without refills, the waitress never even came by to ask how the food was, and waited another 15 minutes after we were finished to get our check. Our waitress never came by, we ended up going up to the register to get the check and pay. This place has lots of potential, but with waitresses running around like chickens with their heads cut off, absolutely no rhyme or rhythm as to how things are run, and the horrific food, we will not be trying this place again.
