The new menu is fine, but the new cookies are not. The first time I tried a cookie after the reopen it was dry and cakey. I figured it may have been an off day so I gave it another shot. The second time my cookie was stale and clearly old. I love the remodel, but changing the cookies is just so disappointing.

Breakfast food is top notch! Atmosphere is awesome too! Cookies are definitely average. Maybe change the company name to just “The Classic Cafe”??Overall, I love this place and I will definitely be back!

Adorable! It's a fresh take on the classic breakfast & lunch spot in Waldo! Freshly made bread and generous portions. Tomato soup was sinful and the carrot cake cupcake was delicious. Service was excellent and everyone makes you feel right at home.

My family and I went for breakfast here during our stay in KC. The waffles are basic and okay. The service was great. The server was very attentive. They did get our food out in a timely manner, and it was not bad prices. This is a cute little cafe if you are looking for a nice, quiet breakfast/lunch spot, you should check this out.

Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but I wasn't overly impressed with this place. I ordered a Cinnamon Roll and a cookie (since they are famous for the cookie). The cinnamon roll wasn't the best I'd had, and the cookie, while good wasn't over the top either. It's a nice cozy breakfast place if you are looking for a breakfast place to eat in KC I think it might worth a stop.

Cute cafe that was completely remodeled and revamped in December 2021. All of the serving staff was very nice. There is limited seating both in and outside because the cafe is small, but my party of four only had to wait about 10 minutes when we went for brunch on a Sunday. The savory crepe and eggs were divine and the OG breakfast sandwich disappeared from the plate in a flash!

Everyone working here was fantastic. The service was great. However, the new menu is uninspired and basic. An article featuring new ownership said it would be classic and simple, but this goes too far. There are no gluten free dishes and barely any vegetarian. It's 2022 in the middle of a hip urban area, this doesn't fly. They were out of cinnamon rolls and banana, impacting both my menu choices. Also, iced coffee is its own thing, hot coffee over ice does NOT count. alas, that is what I was served. The inside is awesome and the pastries looked unbelievable (the cinnamon roll on display was the last one and unavailable so not sure if they taste unbelievable). I'm hopeful they can make some improvements.

We've been fans of the restaurant for a long time, but have not been in since the new owner took over and renovated. The place looks GREAT! The coffee was fantastic. Biscuits and gravy were on point. The pancakes were fab. My hubs loved the eggs Benny. Our family got one of the giant cinnamon rolls to share. We ordered carrot cake cupcakes for a celebration later this week (that look AMAZING) and I took home a quart of the famous chicken salad to have for lunch this week. I'm so glad one of our neighborhood favorites is back in action!

Cute little neighborhood cafe. We went for breakfast and ordered the pancakes with a side of over easy eggs, and the crepes with over medium eggs. My eggs came out over easy, and the server quickly brought me out the correctly cooked eggs. The crepes stuffed with mushrooms and onions were absolutely fantastic. The pancakes were delicious as well. Would come back here again. All of the staff was very attentive and kind.

This tidy cafe has the best biscuit and gravy I have ever had, with lots of spicy sausage in the gravy. The gravy was creamy without being heavy. It is obvious the best quality ingredients were used. I will definitely be back!

A little disappointed today. Their online menu said they had short ribs for breakfast. I had my heart set on it. When I got their the lady, guessing the owner, said short rib prices have gone up so we stopped buy it. Don't you think you need to update your online menu then? So I settled for something else. Probably won't come back for awhile.

So delicious! This place is a great neighborhood café filled with delicious pastries, amazing salads and sandwiches with wonderful coffee! Today I got the brussels sprout arugula salad with goat cheese and will be ordering again very soon! I love to support local and I'm grateful to have this place so close.

I didn’t discover this place for a long time because I thought it was simply a bakery. They do breakfast and do some unusual dishes which makes a good alternative choice for other breakfast places like first watch. The latest thing that I’ve tried are savory crêpes which have mushrooms chives and cream cheese I believe. Anyway they are to die for The time before that I got a breakfast scramble with root vegetables. Very tasty and unusual

Fantastic. Felt like a book club meeting would take place here but I enjoyed the cleanliness, the ambience, local photography, and soft music. Water served in mason jars...cool. Neat little coffee creamer cup. The food tasted so natural and clean. Parisi coffee. We had the country scramble and country hash.

Loving the new ownership! We have been nothing but impressed with the food and experience here since they re-opened. We’ve only had takeout, but the food has been perfectly prepared and packed and is always delicious.Big fans of everything so far… pumpkin muffin, the hash browns, love the yogurt parfait, soups, Brussel salad, bacon is always crispy. Give it a shot for breakfast or lunch.Kuddos to the crew at classic cookie!
